We had no idea how good we had it even just 10-15 years ago.
Something like picrel would have only been a few thousand and parts were literally everywhere.
Has anyone else been nearly priced out of this hobby? It's not even fun anymore.
>>
NAs are now 35 years old nigga, what did you expect? Nothing lasts forever

>NAs are now 35 years old nigga, what did you expect? Nothing lasts forever

What if you kept your car in airchamber and didn't drive it at all ?
>>
>>28993403
An air chamber is not a vacuum chamber. It still has humidity and oxygen.
>>
>>28993403
that would be gay
cars are meant to be enjoyed
>>

Skill issue, start fabricating your parts and building your own tools if you really need to

Cars go to shit in my experience, when they don't get used at all. That's when stuff breaks.
Also as >>28993405 said this is fag behaviour.
>>28993412 Not everyone has the luxury of time or the accommodations to hand fab panels for their datsuns. Some of us have jobs. That being said, my job kinda negates the need for me to do shit like this bc I make enough to pay someone to do it so I guess u gotta choose between having time or capital.

wrong reply I meant to agree with >>28993407

>Those Sport 15's.
I'm running the stock base NB 14's. I have 3 of the sport 15s, but every wheel I see online is a replica pretending to be the real thing. I just need a 4th one. Fuuuck.
>>
>>28993167
Then make it last forever nigg𝓪
>>
miatas are still under $5k
>>
>>28993445
Don't forget there's 3 different "colors" of that wheel as well. NB1 sport 15s are bare aluminum, early NB2s are painted silver (which is what is on mine), and 10AE/00SE are polished.
>>28993438
Flattered you saved a pic of it, thanks.

You’re part of the problem
Please acknowledge that you make the world worse
>>
>>28993570
No, that's just the reality.
In 1990, a 1965 mustang was 25 years old and beginning to appreciate.
In 2026, an NA Miata is roughly 30-37 years old.

I don't like that they have gone up either but they were known as future classics back then too. Now it's compounded by all decent used cars going up in value plus an enthusiast tax. So many were raped in the 2010s and that's just how it is.

>anon acknowledging reality is the problem
>not the retard ricers who've been shitting up and crashing cheap Miatas, treating them as disposable joyrides for decades so supply of non-ruined ones is dwindling, and now piss and moan that there aren't any cheap ones to thrash anymore
>>
>>28993708
It's not just that, if it was that then used NCs would be selling for bottom of the barrel prices, but they're not.

You're experiencing the death of the US dollar and the middle class.
>>
>>28993146
Man, keep your Bomba Clot miata.
I'm goin Fiat 131
>>
>>28993717
Still a supply issue. There were far more NAs made than any other generation, and you may have also noticed there isn't much in the way of small, lightweight RWD 2 door competition for it either short of maybe a 350Z as an alternative.
>>
>>28993570
>Please acknowledge that you make the world worse

make the world worse by acknowledging the passage of time?

retard
>>
>>28993708
but NAs and NBs were truly disposable joyrides for a long time. crashed yours drifting? just buy another for $1.5k. there's really nothing wrong with that, the supply was so high that it was possible, and still kinda is. the reason why spec miata is still so popular is just because they're so cheap, if you crash yours you can get a new one up and running by the next weekend for a few thousand dollars. there's plenty of people who buy miatas and take great care of them but there's just so many of them. it's seriously one of the most common 90s car that I see on the road.
>>
>>28994137
And that throw away mentality is exactly why they're expensive now.
>>
>>28994166
they're not though? there's a ton where i live for sale under $5k. a cheap fun car you can beat up on needs to exist. pretty soon it'll be the frs/brz/86.
>>
>>28993146
it's not even that you can't buy them for cheap anymore. even people who had 90s jap cars like this ended up mostly getting rid of them and getting out of the game because dealing with latinx zoomer scammers on fb marketplace when looking for parts and such was getting annoying. that and markups in the parts market in general. I got tired of dealing with all that shit and sold both of my s13s. it just ain't worth dealing with shitty zoomers and spending thousands of dollars on essentially economy car parts. plus, the potential of getting into an accident that isn't your fault whilst daily driving them means you won't be able to reasonably afford to replace them when insurance pays you out $1k. there comes a point where it no longer makes sense to pay $7+k for a clapped out 90s jap car when you can get a z33/z34/frs or something for the same price.
>>
>>28994189
>Oviedo Florida

you are in florida

that is the land of the cheap rust free miata

everywhere else you have turns (more desirable), less boomers (less of them to pick from), and rust (absolutely decimated available na/nbs in the last 20 years)

It all began in the late 2000s but definitely by the early 2010s. For years the Miata was protected from the drift tax or whatever you wanna call it because "haha small gay convertible". Youtube and Jalopnik were convincing everyone to buy them because well, they were genuinely good.

I remember Jalopnik writing articles all about the limited editions and which ones to seek out because truth be told, base model or M edition, they were all about the same price. This was before auto blogs turned into absolute slop

They only sold about a quarter million NAs in the US. That sounds like a lot but it's really not 30+ years later. You're probably looking at like 50 thousand still on the road now. Just spitballing tho

A 20 year old car was kinda just known as junk but a 30 year old car is starting to head into that category of it's survived this long, so it's worth something. Granted the whole car market is fucked now, people are even flipping civics/camrys/etc but reality is miatas are turning heads now

i know right

v6 challengers are the new miatas
>extremely cheap right now and getting cheaper
>production numbers exceed 1 million units
>double wishbone/multilink (same as miata)
>52:48 weight distro (same as miata)
>85% power-to-weight (same as miata)
>gigantic aftermarket with huge oem performance parts selection (just like miata)
>cute face with silly grin (just like miata)

as a bonus, not only is a challenger big enough to haul over double the amount of people as a miata, you get the worlds best automatic transmission and the whole car is already set up for a v8/manual swap. you can even get a drop top on any challenger if you have about 30 grand to blow, which isn't really too far off miata hardtop prices.
v6 challys are prime retard swap material for jdm engines or other silly projects too.

My dad had an R129 SL500 and it was nothing but problems, it was a tidy example as well. Buy a cheap one and it'll cost you in the long run exponentially more than the cost of a miata. Incidentally he now has an NC and couldn't be happier with it. Also those (and the jag) are totally different use case than a miata.
