i tried changing my engine oil and the drain plug is tight as FUCK. i already semi striped the bottom half of the nut and dont wanna do any more dmg. Should i give up and take it to a shop or put a breaker bar to it?

Hammer on a 6 point socket and give'r

I had a car where the drain bolt was completely rounded. We did oil changes by starting the engine with the oil filter removed, all the oil gushed out.

Actually double check you can even spin off the filter as well. I dont understand why people crank those on when they literally only need to be 1/4 snug

Are you sure that you are turning the wrench to open the drain plug into correct way? it should open if you turn counter-clockwise(to the left).

Order a fumoto valve and keep king kong away from your drain pan from now on.

If the oil pan drain nut is completely stripped out, You could use a oil extractor instead.
>>
Put some PB Blaster on it and let it sit for a few hours or overnight. Just did my oil last week and the aluminum crush washer was fused to the drain bolt. Got some PB in there, worker my fingernail around the edge for a while and it finally popped off.

Post pic.
A nice pair channel locks can remove a stripped bolt.
A single chugga with an impact
Make sure the oil filter isn't nigga right
Get a new plug too.

how are you stripping the bolt if you're turning left and using the correct socket/spanner? don't use an adjustable wrench. also get a longer wrench. if it's truly impossible to get out, uninstall the pan and drill it out and replace, or replace the pan itself. You can get a new chinese pan and gasket kit at oreillys or autozone if you're desperate or rockauto.
the correct socket size and long enough wrench should easily uninstall the drain plug.
