Do you not understand the physics behind trying to drive on to a trailer that's moving?

Your vehicle is traveling forward, wheels rotating at speed with the pavement moving under your vehicle. Then you hit the trailer ramp which is not moving relative to your wheels and vehicle. This would cause your vehicle to surge forward, so you have to let off the throttle for that not to happen. On the other hand, the ramp is sloped, so you need speed/momentum to get up it. So there's a balancing act of figuring out how much throttle you need at various points in the maneuver, and if you have never done it you won't really know what that is.

Transferring a vehicle from a moving surface to a stationary surface (or the other way around) is going to cause some serious stability issues, especially if the transition doesn't happen at the exact same time for both wheels.

I wonder if FWD or RWD would work better for this. With FWD, you have to deal with that surge first but once the front wheels are solidly on the trailer you can just creep up the rest of the way pretty easily. RWD on the other hand would let you keep the throttle steady until you have to get the rear wheels on but then you'd have to time the rear wheel braking perfectly to not run off the front of the trailer once the whole car is on. You'd get some difficulty from the non-driven wheels too either way but relatively minor compared to drivetrain inertia etc. imo.

That’s one of the coolest things I’ve seen in some time.

I should actually check it out someday. It's less than an hour drive for me.
