Just got back from doing 2.5k in a 2025 hire round New Zealand. HireCo were quite impressed with that, apparantly most people put a couple of hundred miles in for the time I had it, not a couple of thousand.

Gotta say, it drives good. First time doing any length of time in an automatic and I quite enjoyed it. It handles incredibly well, did a good mix of highway and mountain pass driving far above the "recommended corner speed" and I didn't get much slip. It was a hybrid and I had it in ecomode most of the time and was still pulling well, didn't feel particularly quick outside of sport but I'm guessing that's intended.

Biggest cons are is road noise is fucking loud, but I reckon that's cause the hire company put cheap tires on it, and that would also explain the slipping during heavy cornering. Lane assist is also a bitch, not staying center and constantly trying to correct to the opposite side of the lane.

Can't speak to longevity since it wasn't my problem, which is also why I was happy to rag it.
