Could you safely run 87 on a N/A car that usually calls for premium. If driven right would the effects be minimal long term as long as the knock sensors account for the fuel. Also would the Mpg drop be that bad for daily driving.
>>28997771no you broke nigger
>>28997771Nope. Ignites at the wrong temp. Very bad for the engine. A tank of premium is cheaper than new plugs and coil packs lol
>>28997771Read the manual and see exactly what it says. Plenty of modern cars can adjust just fine. My Volvo XC90 N/A V8 calls for premium but if you read the manual it says 87 won't hurt the engine, though it may reduce towing performance and acceleration (I haven't noticed anything).>Mpg drop87 actually contains more energy per gallon, you'll probably get higher mpg if your car is actually capable of adjusting appropriately.
>>28997771If its in the engine you just posted then those always sounds like marbles in a can anyway
>>28997815I was thinking the 2gr in the is350 and the j37 in the acura tl>>28997812Ill check the manuals of the cars I'm looking at I was thinking 87 would be fine because they're essentially souped camry and accord motors and I'm fine with the performance drop cause Ill mostly be cruising the slow lane when I'm not doing any spirited driving
>>28997883V6 Camry's have called for premium since the '90s Anon.
>>28997889No?
>>28997771I just rented a vw tiguan thats supposed to run premium. The prior renters including someone named Darquavius must have put regular in. It was getting 50% of epa fuel economy.
>>28997771If it can run on 87 it'll explicitly say so in the manual, if it doesn't then you must use premium or else the engine is gonna run like utter shit and probably cause permanent damage.
>>28998065It's Japanese, it'll be fine. They never break.OP, you can put in 76 or lower if you need to save money with your 3 litre V6 engine. You can also water fuel down with turpentine for example, the Japanese did that with their aircraft engines and they were fine aside for a marginal loss of power.
>>28997889my 3vz-fe called for 91 RON
>>28997771what >>28998065 saidin my case, the manual said 95 RON should be used, but 91 can be used if needed but not often. i tried it once and it chugged it like a mofo and also just felt more sluggish.
