>all new American vehicles will have full 360 cameras inside and outside the car
>cameras will do facial and retinal scan of all those inside and outside the car and compile the data in a national record and cross reference it with a criminal database
>steering wheels and dashboards will have fingerprint censors

Basically it's a good thing because it can protect you from car thieves. If somebody tries to break into your car, their biometrics will be identified. If your car is successfully stolen, the car will have the prints of the thief and the facial/retinal data of the thief, and search it amongst a national database to identify the culprit.

You interested in these new cars? Seems to be plenty secure!

One of the most impressive patents I've seen. You don't see other countries that can match the mass surveillance tech capabilities (for your safety!) of the United States!

You underestimate spyware in Chinese cars.

A patent? companies file patents constantly, they want the rights to it so nobody else can have it, even if they never plan on using it
>>
>>28999870
Exactly. In fact, I'd contend that most patents are filed for that reason alone. I also feel that Ford patent filings are broadcast a lot more than other companies for some reason.
>>
Well color me yellow, boil a dog alive and call me Chang I love china now
>>
Sounds like tweakers like me are gonna make so much money pulling parts, precious metals, and sophisticated electronics.
Nobody born from a 1st world country with 3 digits in their IQ thinks any of this is good. It's an objectively bad idea, only suckers and saps shill this shit.

>>28999855
>Chinese spy car does facial recognition scan and compares with criminal database

Oh thank God. It's a case of honourable American company filing patents for mass surveillance they would never, ever use. Thankfully, things like mass surveillance would never happen in the west.
>>
>>28999977
We didn't say that. We said mere patents aren't indicative of anything more than a company wanting to sit on an idea for profit. I'm quite sure Ford would spy their hearts out and sell the data to the highest bidder. Just as any other company would (and does).

It's going to take legislation with teeth and serious penalties for participants, not just the corporation (lmao, as if!).
>>
>>28999977
Sup Chang, how’s it feel losing the entire moon?
>>
>>28999977
Patent portfolios are an investment and asset protection strategy for nearly all corporations in the world, not just US ones.
It's not a joke.
Companies that get large enough have a department solely for growing their patent licenses simply for the possibility that any one thing will be profitable, maybe, or any other thing might be reinvented by someone else and ripe for a lawsuit, or just to hold as a measure of value for corporate-to-corporate buys and sells.

Of course you can't be like Nintendo and try to claim ridiculous shit like a retard.
>>
>>28999850
Chinese cars already do all that.
So what's with the twitter screen cap thread?
>>
better buy that vehicle youve been wanting, its about to get a lot more valuable.
>>
>>28999946
>Nobody born from a 1st world country with 3 digits in their IQ thinks any of this is good

Except everybody on /o/ thinks it's good, and they're completely right. You're fucking retarded if you don't think this is a good idea. You know how many would-be thieves this would stop? If somebody tries to break into your car, they'll get captured by the 100+ cameras on the outside at 360 degrees. Their retina would be recorded and identified and matched to the hundreds of millions of files on hand. If your car gets stolen, the thief's prints would be quickly matched. Why isn't this a good thing? Why would anybody be fearful of this at all? If you've done nothing wrong, what have you got to fear?
>>
>>29000365
Bro, all that can be bypassed with a mask and gloves.
You think Niggers won't find a way around it?
>>
>>29000365
You must be from Portland what with how fucking stupid and projecting you are.
>>
>>29000365
There's already cameras everywhere. The problem is enforcement.

Is CHYNA going to communicate/cooperate with Western governments and rat me out? Or is it just going to use it to build an advertising profile to sell me plastic shit on Temu?

Any way you look at it, I would rather have the Chinks spying on me, than my own government.
>>
>>29000434
More like spying on you to create a blackmail profile.
I deal with too much important shit to risk being spy'd on.
>>
>>29000434
Obviously not seeing the big picture or is literally a slant eye chink behind the computer, I bet if you had a flag it would be Canada or Aus
>>
>>29000365
found the ford pr intern. how much is the social media team paying you to shill this biometric panopticon?
>>
You can have a hose pop out and suck out a semen, urine, stool, and blood sample then grab a hair sample and they'll still drop the charges down to misdemeanor "bein' a little goofball" when the guy that steals my car is black.
>>
>>29000645
This is sadly true, blacks and browns are a protected species that can do no wrong
>>
>>29000638
So you'd rather have the US government spying on you, than the Chinese government?

I'd rather have neither spying on me, why the fuck would I want either spying on me?
Chinese people can't even own guns, they're disarmed bug men, my state says I can own all the guns I want, that alone proves who trusts their citizens more, here's me shooting a suppressed 308 with night vision and thermal optics
>>
>>29000729
Yeah but if you HAD to choose, you'd rather a foreign government spying on you, then your own, correct?
>>

>>29000738
Motherfucker, ALL the cooperative governments spy on each other's populaces and share the info at request. China would be included in the game but they still think it's 1850 and are trying to be sneaky while they set up their little world empire they think they're entitled to. So while it may not be the Chinese right now you can damn well bet the Brits, the Euros, the Turks, the Israelis, etc. are. The US is spying on them in turn.
>>
remember when it was funny that china was getting spied on and had all sorts of facial recognition and the social credit score? and now your license plate is getting read as you drive around town and nobody gives a shit.
>>
>>29000771
wow they read my license plate? when does the mobile execution van arrive at my house?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Execution_van
pic rel what they bolt you into when you say you don't like cops on social media
>>
>>29000776
i imagine the automatic speeding tickets are coming first, because you hit two cameras faster than you could have at 45 mph.
but yeah thank god they only fuck us in the ass gently. surely it wont get worse than this.
>>

>>29000781
my fault didn't realize it was a trip. don't reply to me i'm leaving the thread.

did you stop the execution van from killing you with the AR15 you hav- oh wait, you're not allowed to have any guns
>>
>>28999850
curious how we have all of these cameras in modern cars by default across all trim lines, yet auto manufacturers refuse to make it user accessible as a dash cam -- unless you pay for the (((option))), of course.
>>
>>29000806
I'm under the assumption Tesla must have patented it or something, because there's no fucking good reason otherwise.

so not the US and chyna, which do not have recriprocal intel agreements. so you would rather have the chinese spyware since all it will be used for against you is to better shill you shit on temu (which might be Good Actually, temu slop is funny)
>>
>>29001082
Oh, so it's better to be spied on by all the cooperative governments AND China too instead of just all the cooperative governments. Got it.

Besides, with things like Flock and Palantir does what your car report really matter? Except to
China that is since they probably wont have access to those other services but will to the cars produced by them.
>>
>>29001094
yes, it shifts one attack vector from the Gendarmerie to simply Alibaba Group, and Alibaba Group was already tracking me through various means anyway so that attack surface isn't even a new one, it just gets slightly bigger as the Gendarmerie's gets smaller

>Flock and Palantir
i'm not american nor a bong, not my problem
>>
We’ve got SIM cards, AI driver monitoring cameras that scores your driving and can be sold to your insurance provider, and apple google login screens.
>But no, this is as far as it’ll ever go. They’ll never do more. It’s totally preventing crime! You should want this! It’s only a patent. The laws or tech could never change!
We used to just get in cars and drive around without having a cellphone even. That feeling of being free out there in the world will never come back.
I assume anyone supporting it is under 20. Things DO change.

>>
>>29001459
yeah most software patents are like that because software that isn't pure source is hard to define in lawyer-friendly terms, and if it's not pure source someone can just replicate it to defeat your patent.

it does show that software and "intellectual property" don't mix well if not being utterly fraudulent, but if you still believe in this stuff it's the only way to not have someone just decomp your software and recompile it in Rust and say it's theirs now
>>
Doesn't tesla already do this with the outside cameras?

Inside is just going to be high school kids boning his freshman girlfriends in the backseat of his parent's 2029 bronco, it's recorded, Ford is recording child porn
>>
>>29001490
okay now I'm on board

>>28999850
you know why american cars need 360 degree cameras now? so you can turn 360 degrees and drive away

>patents a tech specifically to prevent others from using it
like how ten years ago some TV company patented ads that you had to respond to verbally to make go away, and it never actually made it to market.
>>

iirc that was Sony of America, for the PS4.
>>
>>28999850
I love that Americans are still whining about the illusion of privacy.
What do you think all that hand-wringing about the Y2K virus was about?
Why they pushed software patches to everyone?
Why nothing happened?

You gullible hicks.

AmeriKKKunt is worse than China at this point, because at least China improves the QOL of its citizens. USgAy just funnels the money to Epstein/Unreal/techbillionaires/etc.

Huwyte "people" have long lost any pedestal of righteousness, morality, or respectability.

can't we just replace them all with ai now?
