>Last chance to buy your favorite JDM before they become unobtainium forever

Painfully true.

Especially when I remember that a used Toyota sports car can now cost more than 100k
>>
>>29010459
the truth is that no jdm car was ever good, a 2nd hand 340i xdrive mogs all of them

Unless it breaks down, like used German cars tend to do.

not the newish ones (which you can buy for half the price of a "jdm legend")
>>
>>29010497
the new ones are still under warranty and within their 80,000 mi service lifespan
>>
which jdm is pretty cheap these days?
Eclips?
240SX?
350/370z?
what else?

Do you realize that the unreliability of German cars is not just my opinion?

Quoting - "German vehicles ,cars ,trucks ,tanks have been know to be unreliable since the 1940s. Tiger tanks literally broke down in the battlefield and were left abandoned because it was too complex to fix it in the field"
>>
>>29010511
None of those are cheap. 10-15 years ago you could buy Silvias for 2000 from Japan all day long. Now even the most ragged shit box sells for like 5k+ and good luck finding one with an sr20det

The jdm markets good days are behind us. All the cool cars were made in the 90s

New ones are far worse because of heavy use of plastics. It boggles the mind how stupid racists are. They will always say the German car is better, despite the obvious fact it is not.

Unreliable toy to lease only.
>>
Would I be retarded for buying a v8 vantage over a JDM hero car? Euro cars are cheap as fuck in Japan right now because the war has halted exports to a lot of markets.
>>29010530
MR-S’ are super cheap too, just hideous
A Toyota Sera is only $9k currently and is basically a toyota az-1 but FF (gay).
Z32: $10k+
Mitsubishi GTOs in Japan were all AWD and are under $10k for unmolested non-turbo variants. Around $15k+ for turbo variants.
Automatic (DCT) evos are cheap as fuck.
You can sometimes find GC8 subarus for under $10k (they usually need a lot of work).
Mitsubishi made CJ jeeps (J58/38) thar you can get for $3k.
There’s a clean 1.8 K’s silvia on Yahoo auction currently for $17k (manual, unmolested, 70k kms).
>>
>>29010545
a v8 vantage is like 100x better than any jdm hero car

driving both on the track would be like going from a 1980 corolla to a gr corolla or bmw m340i to a proper gt3 car
>>
>>29010555
Yeah, sort of how it felt stepping into one. Throttle by wire is gay and they’re a bit fat, but otherwise everything felt so nice.
>Just thought of another one:
s2000’s are over 25 years old now and I see one for $15k (+s/h) with 100k miles.

This is your reminder that once the brz/gr86 is discontinued, they will go up in price. This is your last chance to get one.

>inb4 they're gonna release a better one

Even driving a new Gen brz compared to last gen, the throttle delay is brutal. They also added a bunch of gay things like backup camera, accident avoidance cameras, blind spot assist etc.

If they do make a new one there is a 1% chance its better than the old ones, and 99% chance its gay as fuck.

Last chance to get in. Gen 2 is hitting it's lifespan window.

that’s rough. I saw a stripped out race beater without paperwork sell for $11k a month or two ago in japan. You’d have to commit very illegal acts to make it legal for export.
I would say to get an ND miata, but really you just need to figure out how to make more money.
If you’re patient and lucky I think you could get a ragged manual for around $20k if you buy directly from auction, plus $2-3k for shipping and maybe more in taxes and fees. ($27k is the cheapest dealer price here, so you can probably get 20% under that at auction)
This one will probably go for cheap:

No, I mean the car was untitled / no paperwork so it couldn’t be legally registered or exported. But you could still trailer it to the race track.
Japan has retarded laws around inheritance so this happens a lot.

Z32's are more attainable than 3000GT VR4 which is the only one that matters. Also, the Z32 NA isn't half bad either while the 3000GT SL is garbage.

they might be more common, but they also seem much more pricey on bringatrailer and carsandbids at least
>>
>>29011770
Not really. Auto 1G is like 8k usd in mint condition. Another 6-7k for a 1JZ and R154 plus maybe another 4k for all other stuff.
So all in under 20k for a clean 100 that hasn't been beaten on as a drift car for the last 20 years.
But then again an auto 1JZ is similar price anyway.

Either way a JZX100 is far from unobtainable.
>>

Why would you spend 25k on a piece of fucking shit like a JZX100.

Overall early 00-s business sedans should be up for grabs - laurels, marks, crowns. Boring - yes, but all in all nice cars and if you're really insist you can still molest them into boyracer drift missiles with bit of an elbow grease.
>>
>>29010556
I'm about to inherit an S2000 with 6500 miles and the only mod that's been done to it was a stereo swap. I'm gonna sell it approximately 10 seconds after I get it, I just need to figure out what to ask and where to sell.

How long since it was last turned on? That car is probably all sorts of fucked from lack of use, on the other hand some rich weeb might pay a lot for it as an exhibition piece assuming no rust and all the body panels and interior looking impeccable.

Zero bids so it should get relisted soon.
Shipping to the US should be $2-3k and if you do the paperwork yourself they may not charge you taxes. Bring a battery and a few gallons of gas.

>Last chance
You had your last chance like 10 years ago.
Ever since the zillenials and zoomers have grown up (the same ones watching Eurobeat / Initial D edits during the 2016 election), the competition has grown larger and more fierce.
Influencers are the last straw on the camel's back.
>>
>>29012966
because 90% of the people who buy / lease new cars are either single mothers, the elderly or retards.
no one cares what the 30-year old neet who still plays NFSU wants to buy, because he never will and (for the most part) lacks the cash and is not dumb enough to fall for a loan with 400% APR

Pretty much none of the cool ones with any sort of pedigree, especially if they were seen in F&F movies, or other street racing media from the era.
>>
Just buy a GR Yaris while they're still around, in 20 years a clean good condition unit will be worth triple digits easy and will have achieved JDM legend status.
>>
>>29018828
Yup, if i didnt already own old Nip cars i would dip into the current gen cars.
