will they ever make fun affordable cars again?
>>
>>29015188
Define affordable first.
>>
>>29015188
No.
>>
>>29015188
when have they ever tho?
the miata i guess, but soo gay
>>
I know, income isn't matching inflation for most people, even myself. BUT, a base 240SX cost 40k in 2026buxx and did 8's in the 0-60.
You can get a nu-86 that'll do 5.5 seconds for $31.
>>
>>29015188
No, they have to be awful and expensive because that is the plan to make people not want to own a car.
>>
>>29015192
under $30k
>>
>>29015188
Nope buy a 90s car while you can
>>
>>29015196
>You can get a nu-86 that'll do 5.5 seconds for $31.
not new
>>
>>29015188
What's your excuse for not building a kit car?
>>
>>29015205
It's 31.9k MSRP.
You can talk about dealer markup but that's the official price.
Comes with a torsen LSD (kind that doesn't need rebuilt) standard where the 240sx only had a clutch-type LSD on some high-option ones.

OBD2 is 96 and the safety nazis hadn't got a strangle hold yet.
Early 2000s is probably peak car.
>>
>>29015220
Pre-2016 = Literal Gold

Thank me later
>>
>>29015197
This guy knows what's up.
>>
>>29015196
>income isn't matching inflation
This is the whole problem. If you get a 3% raise while inflation sits at 7%, your boss has effectively handed you a pay cut.
>>
>>29015230
Yep, it just gets worse and worse after that year.

Over 50% of the population would have to vote for some sort of Hitler-like figure to allow a company that prioritizes longevity, reliability, simplicity, and economy to exist.
To allow a system that actually benefits it's citizens.
I dislike communism, but Russia's Ladas are a great ideal.
>>
Cars are as affordable as ever, poorfags simply deluded themself into believing the world owes them a sub 4s sports car
>>
>>29015242
a cut implies you're taking a hit though. if you didn't get any pay rise at all you'd be even worse off
>>
>>29015418
Do you ever feel bad about making such disingenuous posts?
No matter what kind of buyer you are, from redneck retarded to jdm JS lover, cars are more expensive than they were a few years ago.
>>
>>29015425
>a cut implies you're taking a hit though
compared to what you're currently getting*
>>
>>29015425
yooo, welcome to Canada
>>
>>29015418
if you go second hand you can get this for less than 20k. Buying new cars is retarded unless you're very well off
>>
>>29015434
Adjusted for trim their price has stagnated and is actually below inflation. You simply cant buy one without navigation, ac and tons of other shit like radio anymore (implying anyone ever did)
Lots of people have compared price lists from new cars with their older versions and concluded this
>>
>>29015230
what happened in 2016
>>
>>29015462
wouldn't everyone like to know.
It's like we jumped timelines.
>>
>>29015188
They still do.
>>
>>29015464
Feels to be that was 2001
>>
Probably. I imagine that there were guys in the late 70s and 80s who felt pretty ripped off about the new cars they got vs the new options their parents had, but it eventually got better. Our situation is different though because there are no longer mountains of dirt cheap cool cars on the used market to cultivate the next generation of enthusiasts, and the future of automobiles is looking more and more like smartphones on wheels, so we will find out what happens.

burrrrr burrrrrrrr
oh wait it actually goes
reeeeeeem zeeeeeeeeeem
>>
a 2006 lancer evo GSR was $35,000 USD. that's equivalent to $58k.

a GR corolla premium is under 50k in 2026
>>
>>29015197
you VILL ride ze electric bus. und you VILL be happy.
>>
>>29015196
Its not just that though, the market is clearly at odds with new cars that are turbo charged 4 cylinder slop. I remember seeing a 2017 RAV4 with low miles for like $8k and now they go for over double. If you want a v8 NA pick up truck thats new these days theyre like 70k
>>
>>29017544
Yep, very few people actually want new stuff, the manufacturers don't want to make it and private buyers don't want them.
Governments think they are on to a winner.
>>
>>29017377
Basado
>>
>>29016228
Yeah, THANKS OBAMA.

(You) can make your own
>>
>>29018244
>not even the slightest bit of blur on the wheels
>can easily make out individual holes and lug nuts
Now that's what I call hard parking.
>>
>>29015188
No, they will never make any affordable cars, and soon they will not make any cars. Our hobby is dead.
