Replacement for displacement sisters, our response?

No shit sisters, 3/4 ton vs half tons will always result in 3/4 ton victory. Throw a 6.7 in that truck and it’s even better.
>>
wow #1 in fuel economy whilst carrying 1500-2000 more lbs.
eco-faggots BTFO
>>
Would be a 600/650 motor with 20% better Em Pee Gees if it was dohc with twin vvt.
But that woulda ate into diesel sales now wouldn't it.
>>
I peepee when I poopoo
>>
>>29016149
Do you have any idea how huge a 7.3 liter DOHC engine would be? Why would you want a fuckload more complexity and failure points in a truck engine? You could also put a couple grand into a 7.3 and have a 700/800 motor... So what exactly is the point of a DOHC engine?
>>
>>29016149
DOHC mostly benefits from higher RPMs.
It's meaningless for low RPM towing.
>>
I can't help but doubt it can out-tow and out-mpg a V6 Powerstroke
>>
>>29016371
The 7.3 makes 180hp more than the V6 Powerstroke and 45 ft-lbs more TQ. The diesel is not going to tow better. That's if you put the little diesel in the 3/4 ton. A gas 3/4 ton is going tot out tow the fuck out of a half ton with a small diesel. Your mileage will be similar too (when towing). TFL Truck and many other others have already done the real world testing if you need proof.
>>
>>29016371
VE =/= efficiency.
Volumetric efficiency is just a measure of the air pressure. Higher pressure is more resistance against the pistons on the compression stroke.
Cant have 180% VE without an efficiency loss from what is effecitively more friction.
>>
>>29016060
>port injected
>vvt
>10spd
Not surprised, the ecochooches run like shit and puff black smoke when you get on them. They should have offered the 3.5 na/10spd like the transit vans.
>>
>>29016329
>High rpm towing
Towlet detected. Gas v8s sing to the moon when towing.

That said the entire point is they’re stupid simple so ohv remains ideal.
>>
>>29016790
I don't know what towing you've done, but with a V8 you can cruise around at 3,000 RPM.

If you're doing high RPM towing, that means you don't have enough power.
.t dad's truck had a 496 Big block in it.
>>
58.9hp/L simply is not low enough,..
>>
Briggs and Stratton push mowers get 35hp/L lol
>>
Is he tiny or are your cars that fucking huge?

They're that fucking huge.
>>
>>29016299
>>29016329
I SAID BUT THAT WOULDA ATE INTO THE DIESEL SALES NOW WOULDN'T IT.
>>
>>29018389
No it wouldn't. If you need a diesel you need a diesel. Nobody in their right mind would ever consider using a super complex gas engine to do the job of a diesel. A large displacement pushrod gas engine is durable and powerful enough to keep up with a diesel. These don't "eat into diesel sales". Again, if you need a diesel you need a diesel.
>>
>>29018378
This just highlights how colossal the Rolls is.
>>
>>29018480
i wish that site had more old cars. the chrysler imperial is apparently almost 100mm longer than that rolls phantom
>>
>>29018371
Yes
>>
>>29016974
dude wtf 3000rpm is not cruising even with a v8 your straining that bitch
>>
>>29018418
>nobody in their right mind would complex gas engine
Diesels are DI dohc 4 valvers with turbos. A lazy tuned, low rpm torque (2000 to 3500 rpm primary induction design point) big NA gasser on multiport injection is hella more reliable.

I know what I said!
>>
>>29016299
Push rod engines have a far more complex valve train which results in far more failures you wrenchlet
>>
>>29018480
Rolls aren't that big. A Highlander is going to eclipse a Phantom. They look small compared to the average vehicle on the roads (a pickup truck).

>>29018663
DOHC diesels have gear driven valvetrains. That's not the same as a gasser that uses 60 feet of timing chain resting on plastic guides to move it's gear train.

>>29018665
Yes pushrods are so unreliable yet plane engines use pushrods. Hmmm.
>>
>>29018710
>this retarded cope again
Planes also use Subaru engines and no one would pretend those are reliable
