They should have put some modification of 6.8 l Triton V10 in this beautiful car
>>29017055Rather they should change those red rims to something less kitschy.
The triton v10 was a bit of a turd. I think even competent engine builders largely ignored it as they are for the Godzilla gasser. They're workhorses and just don't have the performance headroom even if you swap out the parts with current go fast tech.
>>29017055What about the 6.4 V10 they put in the 2003 Cobra concept?
>>29017078The V10 was never intended for the Cobra, they had a dual intake NA 4.6L and a SOHC 5.4L out of a Lightning swapped test mules. The V10 was a separate project that ended up in a Mustang to inspire the company to make something like the GT.
>>29017055Beautiful car. I love beautiful cars.
>beautifulIts derivative, Camilo Pardo is a hackThe only genuinely new ideas Ford has had was putting cameras in everyone's car for safety.
The British Lola the styling is stolen from is beautiful. This is just an obese version of it.
>>29017055It's pretty much perfect as is. You could maybe make an argument that it should've had a 427 like the GT40, but whatever. The real crime was putting an ecoboost in the next revision.
>>29017109you mean the mid engine mustang the lola styling came from that would inspire the GT40 is beautiful.
>>29017095Why are you even trying to say? The engine they put in the concept car was never meant for the concept car?
>>29017129I thought you were talking about the '03 Terminator Mustang Cobra concept, not the '04 Shelby Cobra concept I posted.
>>29017129Yes, that concept engine was never intended for that concept car.
>>29017078they should have made that the GT model, and replaced the V6 with the 2v.
the 05 GT was so fucking cool
>>29017055Why? There is nothing more American than a V8 that's faster than anything the rest of the world ever produced in the standing mile.
>>29017055Should've gone in the Saleen.
>>29017055Should've put a K24 engine in that piece of shit
>>29017072On the one hand, you are correct that the V10 was a truck engine through and through and since things like performance cams and performance-oriented intake and exhaust manifolds weren't available it would remain a truck motor no matter what else you did. On the other hand I'm pretty sure Ford could have had that stuff made, along with some 4 valve heads for a V10, if they'd wanted to.
>>29017072This, the inherent design of a 90° v10 with an uneven firing order causes a lot of vibration which requires heavy counter balancers which limits maximum rpm output which limits peak horsepower all for slightly better lows and mids and a penalty cost of extra weight. Sports car platforms need to be light and need to have high rpm powerFord's v10 is a shit cost cutting design intended for workhorse applications.
>>29017576>Ford's v10 is a shit cost cutting design intended for workhorse applications. This, a big shitty engine from a U-HAUL truck belongs nowhere near a Ferd GT
>>29017649The Ford modular engine family. Why does the 4.6 & 5.0 get so much love, But the 5.4 & 6.8 get so much hate?
>>29017055Why? The original had a V8.
>>29017567See the post below yours. It's not like performance parts didn't exist in the 90s. Or even 1960s.
>>29017832Don't talk to me.
>>29017453That car was purpose built over a period of years for standing mile. Any v8 car with suitable aero could have done the same.
>>29017986Why are there no yuronipshit "hypercars" that can do the same?
>>29018034>>29017986Whats with these time gaps? OP sadly talking in his own thread. Talk to your family.
>>29018034Well... Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut set a 223.5 mph half mile which is pretty nice
>>29017822The 2V and 4V 4.6 and 5.4v are good, the 3V gets a bad rep due to two piece sparkplugs and cam phaser issues. But the 3V 4.6 uses phasers too but seemingly have far less issues. This has been speculated as Mustang owners are less likely to change their oil late. I've seen well maintained 3V 5.4s with over 300k on the original phasers.
>>29017055just bc it was a V10 configuration doesnt automatically make it a good engine
