My front right tire blew out yesterday, had to turn quickly to the road shoulder to avoid a crash and it popped like a balloon. Do I buy a new one (different brand), can't seem to find the same one, or buy two new ones and put them on the same axle?
It's irreparable btw, the sidewall is damagedHow it happened, idk
Is that axle a drive axle? Like, if it’s FWD, is it a front tire? And you drive hard?Does your car have a mechanical limited slip differential? If so, you want them to be even, replace both on that axle.If you’re poor, it’s open differential on that side, and you aren’t tracking it. No problem, replace one tire, who gives a shit? I don’t.

>>29017740What?It only causes harm to the car if that side has a limited slip.If you aren’t going past the limit of traction intentionally going into corners at 2x the limit with throttle on, it doesn’t matter. If you drove hard enough you wouldn’t have asked this question. I don’t see the problem with an open differential commuter by a soft driver on 4 completely different tires of the same size. Doesn’t bother me.

>>29017736You'll want two new ones, otherwise you'll end up with weird grip patterns and that'll make a big difference in the handling. Always replace tires in pairs.

>>29017764>>29017766Thanks, will do that
