hey /o/ so im going through a midlife crisis after a lot of consecutively bad things have happened in my life.

after driving an sensible econobox for decades im looking for a car to give me a little joy in life that has aura and presence.

I don’t mind if this is a project car. I want something that looks cool, that I can maybe get for a good price and that I can work on. I will still drive my econobox to work but want this to be a cool car for going out.

I’m thinking an older MB a 560SL, an BMW 850CI, MB 380SL, some Porsche? Open to any type of older cool car.

Get a mk 2 Toyota Celica Supra, they pop up pretty regularly out west at decent prices, and most have a 5 speed manual. Also lots of documentation on engine swaps if an i6 isn’t your thing!

a60 celicas boyracers?? lolwut.
if anything it's gti golfs and 3rd gen onwards hatchback mercs, especially if they have a spoiler, high chance they'll be weaving in and out of traffic and/or have a diarrhoea exhaust

Fuck yeah brother I'm going through the same.
Here are my random recommendations (i'll talk mostly about benzos cause i'm not so familiar with bmws):
>s klass (pre-2006)
>old school e300 with unkillable om606 engine
>w214 (the classic)
>1st gen slk
In Europe, used, they're about 3k€ if that goes into your budget. No idea about the price in the US
If you like Audi, the 1st gen TT or the old school A4/A6 are more sober but still excellent to drive.
I'd also suggest you take a look at some old Jaguars..... they aged like wine

Correct

I’m trying to find a nice car with aura that looks high class and has that classic ssx appeal not scare the hoes or attract jdm abg types
