Nobody is holding their breath for a good Mitsubishi anymore. They've been known for being the worst and cheapest cars for a couple decades now. In their defense, Mitsubishi motors makes up a laughably tiny percentage of Mitsubishi's parent company overall revenue. Its like consumer GPUs under nVidia, yeah they may be profitable but if they stopped making gaming cards nobody at nVidia would notice and their stock price would go up by dropping a low profit segment from the business. The dumpstered the reputation of the Eclipse after the Fast and Furious Movies exploded sales. Cancelled the Evolution line because they were spending so much on WRX racing that weren't translating into sales because a Lancer X was more expensive and slower than an STi as it was also more expensive to modify and somehow not as robust. The DSM motors was an excellent cross brand team up that fell apart because they all wanted a bigger share of the money. The 3000GT was a 90s icon that I still see on the road whereas a 300Z is a little bit rarer for some reason. A modern Pajero would be rad, but I'm not sure it'd sell for how small (or bloated) it would be.

I don't think theres a market for a mini offroader like that trying to edge in on the base model Wrangler and Bronco market. Those have too much recognition for people to consider a Mitsubishi unless it were like $25,000. And if that were even possible, a Jimny might've made it but I'm not seeing as many /o/ posters talking about that so I can't imagine its even selling well in Mexico.
