What does genuinely good taste look like? Obviously it would have to get you a Concours D'Elegance invite.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fwbRP7bl8Bc
>>29022557Wouldn't it be better to buy a brand new BMW instead of these antiques?
taste is a cope for people without the means to acquire high end luxury goods
>>29022557good taste is being able to look at any car from the most barren commuter shitbox to the one-off koeneisngignsegg, and being able to explain something you like AND something you don't like about itall cars are beautiful dreams
>>29022557Whatever I like is tasteful and whatever YOU like is garish trash./thread
>>29022635That's not true, things can be expensive and tasteful. You're talking about the stealth wealth meme

>>29022557It means a design with attractive proportions, mathematically measurements just look right.Good taste 57 Chevy, Jensen Interceptor, early Imperials, Mazda Cosmo. Bad taste Chrysler Cordober, Edsel, mid 70's Toyota Corolla and most Datsuns, Mustang 2, Chrysler K cars. Pic in OP designs just look messy to me, they look like kit cars.Bad taste cars tend to be cars made for people who don't care about cars like SUV's with doors and windows that are differently sized from the back and front. You then have weird stuff that can be either really bad taste or really good taste depending on how you look at it like the Aston Martin Lagonda.
>>29022557Taste oftentimes has a lot more to do with the buyer than the car itself. That's not to say there's not tasteless or banal cars ; there absolutely are. Take something like picrel for example. If the buyer purchases it because it's the most expensive thing at the auction house, or because it fits their idea of what wealth looks like, they're tasteless. But if they purchase it because they find the N/A V12 particularly exciting, or enjoy the gated shifter, or just really think it's a beautiful car, then they have (at least some) taste.
Anything before the year 2000
beauty is in the eye of the beholderyou must slay it and retrieve the beauty for yourself

>>29022557If you've got a car collection that's primarily cars from the current year, I don't see it as good taste even if you've got a new car that's "cool". It just tells me that in 5 years your entire collection will just be whatever "cool" 2030-31 cars will be around (implying any).If the model years of your collection read more varied like having a '37, a '53, a '67, '78, '84, '93, '04 and so on it tells me you've got a bit of taste that's not just for whatever you grew up with.Concours anything can tell me you've got money, some taste even, but it still doesn't tell me that you actually like to drive, on the other hand. There should be some "non-concours", driver-level classics in there. Something you don't mind getting dirty and creasing the leather of.Of course, it's different if we're talking some poorfag that can only afford a few cars. I'm thinking in terms of "car collectors" i.e. the concours types that build up collections.
even that 100M+ collection isn't what's getting the owner 18 year old pussy it's whatever dumb shit iphone he buys his trollops
