It is still about 50-50 in Italy/Spain but their trend is following the rest of Western Europe, just delayed by a few years. The days of autos being a fuel inefficient luxury are gone as they are more efficient than manuals so expect the trend to continue until manuals are a literal niche market reserved for certain sports cars and offroad vehicles like in the USA (under 2% manuals here btw).
