Looking to purchase a used car 2020-2023 between the 3 models. I’ve driven all 3 and I have to say I loved the BMW experience the most and Mercedes and Lexus are kinda tied. The “responsible” side of my brain says Lexus will be cheaper to own. But the enthusiast in me had so much fun in the BMW.Does anyone have any advice?

>>29024238IS is a 3 series "competitor", not a 5 series competitor. Also the IS350s engine can't be compared to the B58.Mercedes, it's nice but engine is far from reliable.540i mogs both. If you want luxury and power (plus reliability) and don't care for easily gaining more power than look at the LS460.
Haven’t heard anything about the Lexus other than abnormal tire wear and its minivan engine. It’s a compact car. 5 series is larger, more powerful but you need to figure out which iptions you need to look for. B58 is great but it can/will have issues you need to address yourself once it leaks coolant. I don’t have any suggestions for preventative maintenance for these engines otherwise, they’re great. Be prepared to spend money repairing chassis-related problems, suspension and diff/transfer case can be pricey. I would avoid awd as it requires more service and failure points for marginal benefit. Also, look for 1 owner, you don’t want to end up with a trash heap>1st owner is rich, maintains German car>2nd owner sells car when he suspects an issue
