Can you put body solder on a seam instead of using seam sealer?Seems like the solder should flow into the cavity and seal it up but AI tells me the flux is corrosive and that it traps water, that it becomes brittle etc.If I can't use a butt weld with a continous seam AND it is in a visibly area what do I do?The seam sealer will show even if overpainted and apparently you can't grind it down, or can you?
Uhh sure you can?Niggas been using tin and silver to solder holes in their A pillars since forever. You could just put bondo over it too.And why couldn't you grind it down.
You should look up the very old technique of melting lead and how lead sleds got their names. Before Bondo, these guys were simply melting shaping, and shaving the metal before painting. I'll let you guess why that practice stopped.
>>29025571solder is a tin + lead mix used with a flux.lead rods are used as body filler.not the same and brazing shouldn't be used for any sort of load bearing
