What is the best two car garage that includes a daily driver and a utility vehicle, with only a 30k budget.
Do you spend more on the car since it's where you'll be most days and a cheap pick up?
Or do you spend more on the truck since cheap trucks are likely to be dogged out.
Maybe spend it all on the best half ton around? Or get a Maverick to split the difference? Or even substitute the truck for a more affordable SUV and a utility trailer? Is there even a right answer?

The fact that you’re even considering a Maverick tells everyone exactly what kind of "utility" you actually need-which is to say, none. You’re looking for a lifestyle accessory to feel productive while you haul one bag of mulch twice a year.
$30k is a single-car budget. Trying to split it into a "garage" is how you end up with two financial liabilities that make you look like a wrenchlet every weekend. Buy a clean, high-trim GMT800 Silverado for $15k and put the rest into a used Lexus. Or just admit you’re an NPC, buy the Maverick, and stay out of the truck lane. Trying to "split the difference" is just a long way of saying you're NGMI.

Nah I live in the country and use my truck all the time, it's just not heavy hauling. I don't know why people like you think the only thing a truck can be used for is towing 5 ton construction equipment. Problem with the Maverick is the bed but I figure it's good enough for the really light stuff and then I can use my trailer for moving brush and junk.

Do you have the towing upgrade? Without it they have the same towing capacity as my last car, a 2010 Impreza hatchback.
You can haul as much ”lighter stuff” with an Accord as you can a maverick. Maverick is a “compromise everything to be jack of all trades” car, but it can’t even handle being that more than 90% of other cars which also follow the compromise philosophy.

Do not reply to Europeans. In their countries you are only permitted to own a truck for work purposes. All anti-truck posting is simply cope and seethe.

Here in the US the maverick is not a truck, it’s a unibody with a bed instead of a trunk. It’s FWD until slip is detected.
Might as well buy a sedan? Especially if you’re too scared to put heavy shit in the bed.

The cope of those who cannot even own a yard. You ever stop and consider how pathetic this insult is? You really couldn't think of anything else you'd use a truck bed for? Small thinkers.

The number of times I've ran into "damn the bed is too small" is 0. 0 times. I've moved entire patio sets, kayaks, 1000lbs of dirt/mulch, done garbage/dump runs, bought plants. I live in toronto and I see 10-12 Mavericks being used as contractor vehicles for companies. If they can be used as professional contractoe vehicles theyre good enough for home owners.
