Then the front wheel hubs needed replacing because I drove through water twice and they corroded quickly. The car was jumping up and down on the highway which scared me to death. To replace the right side wheel hub the mechanic had to break and replace a $400 sensor. It started feeling very floaty into turns which turned out that a front stabilizer end link was busted. Then I dropped some dosh on new tires and a bent rim. Has needed alignments frequently. Now it's picked up a vibration, made metallic groans from either side and feels like it's trying to drive in two different directions especially on grooved pavement. I'm guessing it needs tie rods or something even though I had it inspected 2 months ago and they claimed the car was in perfect working order and that everything was tight. I haven't hit anything since.I have like 34 payments left lmao. Meanwhile I just drove 60 mile round trip in a honda that has had absolutely no work done except brake pads since 2008 and it drives like a fucking car should.

You're finding out why you actually really need to NOT use your phone while you drive, don't speed over speedbumps, don't hop curbs and read ahead on the road. One single crash or rough landing from you jumping your corolla can break like 10 things and you might only notice 4 of them right away. Next car don't ever do the dumb shit you did, it isn't covered under warranty.

I bought an an 8th gen corolla with 200k miles and i know someone who bought a 9th gen with 200k miles, and the suspension on both of them immediately imploded over the course of the next 15k miles (all struts, bearings, bushings, ball joints). however those components were all original, and they survived 200k miles which is quite good in my opinion. that's how long a corolla suspension SHOULD be lasting, but evidently they don't make em like they use to™. also ideally if you're buying used i'd say the magic range is 110k-140k miles (likely has had a second timing belt but suspension isn't fucked yet) or 225k+ miles (most wear components have been replaced and is also likely on its third timing belt if it has one). but also don't buy an engine with a timing belt unless it's non-interference because having the livelihood of you're entire engine rely on a consumable rubber belt seems gay as fuck>>29029614this is a knower. buy something with a reliable engine and transmission, spend a few weekends replacing the suspension components and you'll left with a reliable car.
