God I can't wait till I finally get home and can buy some good noise-canceling earbuds. I can do heat but I can't fucking do sound anymore man. Used to when I first started out but not anymore. Having to sleep next to a busy highway or a reefernigger just murders me.

Speaking of, do y'all have a specific brand you use? I don't care about the money, I will shill out my entire salary if it means I never have to get earraped during rest hours again.

Headsets don't work for me cause I'm a side sleeper, though I might get one just to try out during the day.

UNDERSTOOD CIVVIE BITCH!? AINT EASY TO BE A TRUCKER!
>>
Yo mama so fat, when she walked across the CAT scale, the attendant at the intercom asked if this was a reweigh.

Don't waste your money, just get some cheap earplugs instead and play some whitenoise if you still need more, that'll be much more effective and comfortable.

The Honda CR-V is such a brainlet vehicle. Chances are that if you see one going the same direction as you, it will ruin someone's day by going the speed limit in the hammer lane.
>>
I think I understand why you guys in the US find highways stressful lol
>>
>>29033153
It can go as high as 85mph speed limit in some places. There's stretches of I-80 where the limit is 80mph for basically hundreds of miles with few interruptions. Coming around a blind corner at 76k doing 72mph down a slight grade to find some retarded jiggaboo stalled out in the right lane and an equally retarded bitch to the left of you taking their sweet time passing is a real fun experience.

I shaded over into the hammer lane and got on the brakes doing it and dumb bitch got on the shoulder and suddenly remembered how to push the pedal all the way down. Technically I could've just plowed into the groid stalled on the goddamn highway and if they had died I wouldn't have been at fault because they're that monumentally retarded, but I'd rather not kill anyone and I'd like to not be out of work for a month while the investigation exonerated me and the truck got fixed. But yeah it's like 95% boredom and 3% gridlock and 2% pants shitting terror where decisions you make in milliseconds determine the course of your and other people's lives. There's a reason why I get black out drunk at least once every time I go home and park the rig.

>boss asks us to like and comment on the TikTok recruitment clip they made
>can't do it cause I don't use that shit
It's over for me isn't it?
>>
>>29033224
Yes, but not because you can't be engagement for a retarded social media post, but because you work for a shithole with high enough turnover they have to make tiktok videos to keep asses in seats. Likely because they don't pay shit.

I've learned the hard way to not deliver to a large coastal metropolis city unless you're starting the day already close by.

Do not think you're going to drive 500 miles to get to it, deliver, and then still have enough time to park.

From here on out, I will make sure to stage just outside of cities, before delivering. Dispatch and planners and DMs can bitch and complain, too fucking bad. I'm keeping my CDL clean.
>>
>>29033964
Same if you have to run mountains. Shit takes fucking forever and there will be zero parking available along your route. Plus you run the risk of dealing with a breakdown or a road closure. Best to start with a full clock, not worth it unless you've got more than half minimum.

Wth, isnt the speed limit in the eu 120.
>>
>>29035696
That's for regular cars. Trucks are locked at 90 km/h max, some at 85 or even 80.
>>
>>29035696
It is, some places have it at 130kmh if memory serves, but everyone does cooser to 150 on those roads in their dads old Fiat Cinquecento

>my first trucking gig: $0.55/mile or $17/hr when you include pretrip/fueling/etc
>my last trucking gig (local): $0.85/mile or ~$21/hr

>doing uber: ~$1-1.50/mile or $23-$25/hr
LMFAO there really is no point in this unless you’re literally homeless and have no car. No wonder companies & schools are willing to put you up in a hotel for training, because you’d have to literally be homeless to become a truck driver now.
