How much truth is there to the joke that RV stands for Ruins Vacations?
>>
>>29031316
Why would they? They're supposed to make "camping" more enjoyable for people who don't like camping. If they're well maintained and taken care of they probably won't let you down. Now if you keep your travel trailer in storage for 11 months out of the year and go on a trip with flat spotted tires and wheel bearings that have never been serviced then you might run into some turmoil. Motorhomes live brutal lives and nobody aside from RV dealerships will touch them when they break. Breakdowns will happen on even brand new motorhomes and that only gets worse the older they get.

Things are a fucking money pit. Never buy this shit, just rent.
>>
These things are insane. They run $150k and you have to finance them at like 15%, then they start to break down and get mold immediately. If you stayed at a 4 seasons every year for 2 weeks long vacation for the rest of your life you would not spend as much as you would on an RV.
>>
They're great to watch when the driver has absolutely no business being behind the wheel of something that big or bigger.

depends on the vacations you upstairs
usually take. if you're camping or together anyway, or only crashing at a hotel after an event then getting right back out, then they're great. if you're going to destinations where the place is part of the experience they'll be disappointing
>>
>>29031316
They're fucking stupid.
Especially the absurdly huge ones.
The point of camping is making do with less than what you normally would at home, that's the fun.
>>

I have a few friends who bought used ones from the 90s-00s.
Around $10K.
Idk if they made mistakes or not.
Not it'd me nice to avoid staying in questionable hotel rooms.

Good when you're on the move or a road trip, bad when you go to a destination and want to camp there.
In that case a trailer has the advantage that you can still use your car for excursions or shopping trips.

Keep up your maintenance.

You pretty much need to tow another vehicle with even the larger class C's which seems a little pointless when you could just use a truck and trailer.

"Camping" is fucking retarded.
Why would I want to "vacation" and live in sone primitive environment our ancestors left behind thousands of years ago?

Im rolling into the dunes with a 35 footer that has 4 popouts and living comfortably with A/C when I take a break from my Banshee.

Sometimes the location is everything.
It's best if you can stand to be in the same room as the people you are holidaying with.
>>
>>29031316
What's the mpg on this thing?
>>
>>29032427
Probably 8-12mpg. Pretty much all class C motorhomes are gassers and they're thirsty.

They aren't for camping, they're for touring the west. They serve no other purpose besides driving to every western state and enjoying the road in a moving apartment.

Tell us about your urban, crime infested hellscape thats so heckin vibrant and diverse and how having your car broken into every month is totally worth it for the amazing food....
>>
The point of RVs is to have such a bad vacation that going back to work feels like a vacation

I have no issue with electric versions.
I just personally dont believe the infrastructure is there yet.
The next breakthrough in solar panels might mean I can drive to the dunes and be self sufficient for a weekend.
When we get there ill embrace it.
But it wont be tomorrow so my 2smoke4life sticker stays for now.
