Anti-car guy here. Life circumstances have forced my hand and I got a pre-owned european car because I had no choice and it is a delight to drive but I am confused by how this works. I realize I'm going to have to DIY my maintenance or it's going to cost more than just buying a new one but are there like car co-ops like there are for bikes where you can just roll in on your shitter in the part of town that used to be abandoned warehouses and crackheads but now it's craft brewing and ceramic workshops and there's some chick with long armpit hair who doesn't shave her legs and she glares at you like you're trying to hit on her but you just want to know where the Park Tool TW 5.2 2-14 NM torque wrenches are kept and you try to donate when you're done and they won't tell you how much so you get guilt tripped into dropping a $100 bill into the donation box and it would have been cheaper just to go to the LBS? Like a co-op but for car repair?Or do I have to go buy $10k worth of tools for this to even make sense? Maybe I'll just take it to Jay and Andy's Eurosport Shoppe by the airport and pay them $1000 for an oil change, this is too complicated. But how do I know they're giving me the certified motor oil that my vehicle requires?
