I bought a e36 recently and replaced the CCV system. The car runs good once it's driving but it's slightly rough in park ( don't judge, I have the manual swap stuff already)Feels like a small vacuum leak.I found this weird valve and when I squeeze it, pressure escapes. When I let go of the valve the car runs smooth and nice for about 10-20 sec and then gets rough again.Wtf is this thing and what does it mean ?
>>29033235This is the valve im talking about
>>29033235I'm no expert ,but it looks like a BMW with opened hood .
>>29033235It might help if you told us what it was connected to.
>>29033236Transmission vent tube probably. Shouldn't be connected to the intake at all. Likely unrelated.
Outside of you fucking up the CCV, which is likely, the only other things drawing vacuum are the air pump, the brake booster, the evap purge valve, and fuel pressure regulator.>>29033403the fuck is this shit shame on you
get rid of the air pump, vent ccv and evap to atmosphere, and cap all their corresponding vacuum ports in the manifold like someone who does not live in a pod and does not eat the bugs.
>>29033403If you drew this for me your the man, but I'm still confused lol.>>29033405I think that's it !I have a hard time finding anything about it online but everyone's running manual of course. Thanks !>>29033411That fucking CCV drove me nuts for way to long. The hose was brittle and snapped when I inspected it.I replaced it with a complete febi kit.Ive been buying febi for years now and they're usually very solid stuff. They even did OEM shit for bmw of I recall right.Turns out the damn thing was busted from the factory. It sounded like someone's playing a trumpet in my engine bay when the car was warm.Took everything apart about out 4 times and I'm a little burned on getting in there again so I hoped this damn valve up there is the easy way out.Time to bring out the smoke machine.
