Does anyone on /o/ have experience with DUI and reckless driving charges? I went 65 on a 45 road while driving home from another state by mistake and now the cops are trying to put those on me on top of speeding even though I didn't come close to hitting anyone and haven't drank more than a sip of beer in my entire life. The worst part is they towed my car and I can't get it until tomorrow afternoon. I need my car and license to get to work, this stuff is absurd.
none a this happeneddon't believe a single word
>>29033655Did they draw your blood?
>>29033673yes, I gave them permission to because I wanted to get out of that shithole as soon as possible and I knew I wasn't on anything.
>>29033677They'll probably just dismiss the charge once your lab results are available at the first court hearing.
>>29033699and reckless driving? Pretty sure you can get suspended for that in georgia.
>>29033713Hire an attorney of course, and he can probably get it pled down to careless or speeding.
Other states should have 0 justification to impede your driving in your state of residence. However dont ignore it. If you just say oh i wont pay or DONT REALIZE THEY ADDED EXTRA CHARGES WITH AN EXTRA COURT DATE. Then that state goes oh look we have made your fine $2k and we are putting an indefinite hold on your license. Pay us or we can affect your driving in any state that isnt us with our stupid dumbass laws that only apply in this particular state
>>29033655Yeah America is now going nuts with this sort of thing, take a look at a map of UK speed cameras to see how bad it can get.I think what they'll do is go ok we'll drop it to just 65 in a 45 if you simply plead guilty, this stuff stays on your record now so I think legal help is worth it.
>>29033655I got reckless driving once. I was drifting a miata on freeway onramps and ran out of talent and clobbered a sign. I had to take some gay safety class to get it expunged.
