I'm shopping for a practical CUV/SUV that's economical and reliable. I've found several Lexus RX300/330/350 models nearby for around $6,000, with mileage ranging from 150K to 250K.Currently I drive a 2015 Nissan Altima with 100K miles, and I'm looking to move up to something capable of handling mild trails and car camping, with room for light upgrades like a roof rack and mudflaps. The Lexus RX seems like the strongest option for affordability, reliability, and fuel economy, but I haven't seen it come up much in discussions here. Anyone have experiences with these?Are there other vehicles I should be seriously considering alongside it?

>>29033725It's a solid car, My family has had one since new back in 2003 with my brother currently driving it at 500k kms.Currently the main issue for him is that the steering rack is leaking so he need to occasionally refill it, you have to remove a bit of stuff to replace the parts so we've held off on fixing it, so if you are looking at one keep an eye on what's maintenance has been done relating to that.

In fact, I think it's known to be a top-selling luxury SUV in the United States, with good reason.the GX models are great for offroad & overland builds, but I like your idea to pick one of these up for much cheaper and modify it. Keep in mind, it is a car body, not a truck body, but I've seen great results with modified RX300 and 330.

BTW only did timing and water ever 105k.
