is it any better than the charger? I test drove a 2018 v6 charger recently. Nicely specced out with all the tech features, but with me and 2 other grown men in the car it just felt kinda sluggish, barely faster than my grand marquis. And it also felt very vague, like it was hard for me to gauge where the corners of the car were located. It just felt bigger to drive than it actually was.

Is The Challenger more nimble and refined by comparison? If I didn't really like the Charger, would it be worth it to drive a challenger?

the v6 challenger is 200 lbs lighter and has 13 more horsepower than a v6 charger plus the steering ratio is tighter on the chally, so it is a lot lighter on its feet and the engine is a tiny bit more responsive.
i drove a charger awd sxt+ before buying my chally and i found it to be fun.
one of the things that really hobbles the v6 cars is really heavy handed torque mitigation, which is there mostly to prevent black women from mustanging themselves in a leased 4000 lb open diff rwd shitbox, but can be tuned out. also the lack of a factory-available limited slip package means only true enthusiasts will ever find out what a pentastar powered lx car can really do. any given rental v6 mopar is only using a fraction of its true power.

Idk, I've had two Wranglers, both Pentastar manual, some 8 years combined, and I've never had a single issue.
Quality? Depends on how you define that. It's a mechanical off-road car, it's not really about fit & finish so I wouldn't judge it on that. It's a solid vehicle, I don't see an issue. I do not like the steering in the JL though, JK was fine, they fucked it up. There's also a lot of throttle lag and rev hang but I understand that's normal in '20s cars.

it's a mopar thing because the pedal and throttle blade are not meaningfully connected to each other. when you accelerate, the ecu senses demand and load and opens the throttle a calibrated amount. there are threshholds built into this system for both emissions and safety which is where the rev hang and throttle lag come in. you might notice if you really stomp on the pedal hard the engine does not respond at all for a little while, this is an intentional "feature" to save retards from killing themselves and can be disabled with a tune.

the car breaks traction easily while its length gives it lateral stability so its pendulum action is precise and easily controlled rather than turning into an unrecoverable oscillation. the pentastar is a bespoke 60 degree sequentially fired v6, not a 90-degree v8-based design like you would find 50 years ago. The 123456 firing order and 60 degree angle means a Pentastar (and the VQ, and GM HF, and Cyclone) is three inline v-twins, not two 3 cylinders joined at the crank in the same way a v8 is really just two 4-bangers stuck together.

every challenger has the same electronics in it, even the v6 and v8s use the exact same ecu and bcm.
you can enable SRT transmission settings for faster shifts on the zf8 and super track pack features like being able to turn the traction control completely off.
I've also tuned out most of the torque mitigation since I have an lsd.
the number one thing that makes a v6 chally seem so slow is the electronic torque restriction eating horsepower before it ever gets to the wheels, to mitigate the fact that the stock v6 chally has an open diff and heavy caster which makes it tripod like a civic in sharp corners and spin the inside wheel. this is very easily tuned out with hpt.

other pentastar tuners have got them up to 7200 fully stock and reliable, im just going for 7k. I only stopped at 6800 because thats how far the stock cam tables go.

again the combustion chambers are neither round nor symmetrical. the depth and width of the combustion chamber changes across the deck. a real hemi from any maker has a nearly perfectly symmetrical combustion chamber. obvs anything with more than 2 valves can't be perfectly round thus the flat faces of a quad-valve hemi form what is called a pent-roof, and compression requirements have flattened the sides, but if you were to cut the head down the center of the chamber the shape ascribes a hemisphere when viewed from the side.

Aside from it being the wrong shape you can't orient and actuate 4-valves on a hemispherical contour w/o a more complex valvetrain.The pentastar cams are too close together and it uses conventional roller rockers. At best, it is simply a 4-valve head with a rounded pentroof.

These pictures indicate a classic pentroof design...2 angled, flat-faces such as a shallow roof of a house. If there was any kind of hemispherical contour in there, it would need to be a rounded contour, not only encompassing the 2 faces of the "roof", but also a rounded contour in the perpendicular direction to that. That's the part that would break each of four valves into its own angle to properly seat into a hemisphere contour, which would drastically complicate how the overhead cams could actuate 4 independent angles per cylinder.

Even if you retained a hemispherical chamber with 4 valves you'd have a worse flowing engine. Hemi work well enough in 2V engines because the radially opposed valves direct the air from one side to the other in an orderly fashion. If you retained a hemispherical shape with 4Vs not only would that require a far more complex valve train but as soon as you put multiple flowing valves in a hemi shape, it ceases to flow like a hemi would anyway. It simply flows like a multi-valve configuration (for better or worse from the chaotic and complex flow dynamics). The hemi contour simply ceases to be any benefit if there are 4 valves and is why modern 4V engines use pent roof designs.

The benefit of a hemi isn't just flow it's about achieving a good air/fuel mixture and a complete burn thanks to the centrally located spark plug and chamber aerodynamics. that's how it makes more power. a 2v hemi achieves better air/fuel atomization than other 2v designs and so can run higher compression (moar powah), but now we have fuel injectors which mean the atomization is handled before the mixture even gets past the valve, meaning the swirl effect isn't as important and the chamber doesn't need to be a perfectly round curve which is far more costly to machine. instead, stick two pairs of valves in there for maximum possible airflow and reduce the curve to its absolute minimum, you still have excellent cross flow but all the combustibles are directed straight to the spark plug like a funnel.
