Bongineering is genius until the design ends reaches mass manufacturing where corners get cut along with perfomance. Shit like >>29037014 is a good example as the speed 6 was a genuinely amazing design but once it actually got built they swapped out the crankshaft and dowelled the main caps, making it shit the bed and get raped by the V8 perfomance market.Then there is the Mini. Its entire perfomance was designed around 10 inch wheels with half of it's legendary handling coming from it. Then by the 1990s they swapped out to 12 inch wheels with optional 13 inch """sportspack""" from factory, all the while changing the metal panel manufacturing and paint formulas. The result? Handling was absolutely butchered despite a more modern engine package and rust so badly that the older the mini is the better the bodywork will be due to better bodywork manufacturing standards prior to MPI models.
