If you're not ordering a car brand new, you have no right to complain about any car trend
>>29040861Yeah except in 10-15 years when I want to buy a depreciated one outright as a beater for pennies, it won't be cost viable bc of how complicated nu cars are and how difficult and/or expensive they will be to repair. Simple cars that can be maintained cost effectively by fiscally sensible normies that you don't have to go into debt to own are going away and that's fucking gay.
>>29040870> Yeah exceptThere is no exceptIf you're not ordering a car brand new, you have no right to complain about any car trend
>>29040861this is /o/, they fucking hate buying new cars, but all they do is complain and get their opinions from headlines and reddit echo chambers and youtubers
>>29040861I own a brand new car. It's EV. I love it.
>Gee, none of the cars are what I like. Guess I'll buy used.>"You have no right to complain about new cars"Maybe if they made cars I'd enjoy more than old ones, I'd buy a new one again. I've bought 3 cars new, all manual.
>>29040876I would probably own a new EV but I wouldn't buy a new ICE car unless I needed a truck for towing long distances. New ICEs with very limited exceptions just aren't as good as ones from 15 years ago so it makes no sense to buy a new one.
>>29040861Nobody buys new cars because they're all shit. They are all shit because governments have decided that you don't want to buy a new car.Go figure.
>>29040879Agreed. New ICE cars have the worst things of EVs and none of the benefits. Older ICE cars are still great why the used mrket is so fucked up now. No reason at all to get a new ICE car over a 5-10 year old one.
>>29040886is the used market really so fucked up as people keep saying or is it just for a few models of car are really highly sought after that are consistently overpriced? here you can get a medium mileage early 2000s-early 2010s toyotas for under 10k in the Bay Area. That's not too bad, although it might be different in the east coast because the road salt eats up all your old cars But certain toyota models like the 1990s boxy tacomas are overpriced because hispanics like them a lot
>>29040883>governments have decided that you don't want to buy a new carmost people would not drive if there were a more convenient option
>>29040886I'm >>29040878I'd still rather have a new ICE car than a new EV.The problems with new cars are with both types.
>>29040901>most people would not drive if there were a more convenient optionIndeed, my five minute commute would be an hour and a half by public transport or about 35 minutes on foot.
>>29040902Power units in modern ICEs are way more complicated than EVs. You got heaps of electrical gremlins to deal with related to the drivetrain and servicing is a nightmare. At least with the EVs you only theoretically need to worry about all the peripheral electronics going wrong, which you also have to deal with in ICEs. Yeah there will be a bit of battery degradation over the years but I would not trust an equivalent modern ICE engine not to go to shit over the same period anyway. Given the choice over either I will still just pick a mid to late 2000s toyota so it's a moot point from my pov.
>>29040901I have a 25 minute train ride to work and it's based. I can read a book or catch up on work or sleep and switch my brain off. It would take me 45 mins plus by car and then I'd have to pay for parking, and expend mental energy navigating retard drivers and staying alert. I only use my fun car on the weekends.
>>29040861>>29040870I have a right to complain about whatever the fuck I want, and if OEMs keep making bad new cars, I'll keep not buying them, and if everyone keeps not buying them, then OEMs will change the trends we don't like, or go bankrupt :^) You are the creatura in your pic by the way, since you can't understand this midwit concept.
>>29040861>If you're the person that car companies actually listen to, you have no right to complain about any car trend
I'll complain about whatever the hell I want
>>29040924oh I read that wrong, I actually agree
>>29040940For the future, there's a button to delete posts between I think 2 and 30 min after it was posted.
>>29040943I don't care that much but thank you
>>29040943why would you clean up your own post? I shit in threads like i'm in the streets of mumbai and let the jannies clean it up. that's what they're there for.
>>29040896under 10k is a low bar. you used to be able to get something serviceable for $1k. a 20 year old corolla should not be $7k, i don't care how good the condition is.
>>29040861he is from Guatemala tho
>>29040949Ifn you make yourself look like a cnut on a public forum then an oopsie button is always useful.
>You can't complain about the slop if you're not willing to eat it!Fuck off and take your faggy screens and hebrew surveillance equipment with you.
>>29040861Why would I order a brand new car when they're all full of crap I don't want?
>>29040978Who cares on an anonymous sri lankan metalworking forum?
>>29040861>mfw capitalism means that manufacturers get to be as jewish as possible and then blame the consumers for any problems.
blaming consumers for bad products is retarded and if i see you doing it in persin ill stab you.
>>29040874>>29040861Fucking exactly, I had this realization like 2 years ago after reading the latest /o/ thread bitching about new cars.New car makers are making cars that sell, they have a building full of analysts deciding what their cars should look like and what features they should have based on actual sales. They don't care what poor people think the suspension should be like or what engine it should have, they care about what SELLS. and what SELLS are ugly blobs with LED searchlights on the front and giant iPads glued to the dashboard. The fact that nobody on /o/ makes the connection between "modern cars suck" and "I'll never buy a car new!!" is proof the average IQ on this board is somewhere around 80.
