It's also rather fun, and a lot more engaging than any car. The real problem with bikes is weather. Rain sucks, heatwaves suck, and when it gets to black ice temps it becomes unrideable.

Owned a bike in college and for a few years after. Easy to work on, I could curl the engine if I had to, parts were cheap, gas was cheap because 50 mpg without resorting to Prius, the college charged $150 a semester for a car permit, $30 for a bike permit. My locale permits lane-splitting too, so morning commute dropped from 90 minutes of stop-and-go traffic to 30 minutes of cruising, the hour of extra sleep in the morning was absolutely worth it. Also, my locale exempts motorcycles from toll/HOV restrictions, so I could take the HOV lane if I didn’t feel like lane splitting.If we’re being honest, the typical American car is puttering around with 4 empty seats, my bike never went anywhere with an empty seat because if I didn’t have a reason to have an empty seat I just left the pillion pad at home.Also the rumbling of a V-Twin approximately 5 inches from my scrotum gives me a chubby.

Gaming is for when I am real tired and need to relax. Nothing can compare to it except when I flew LSA back in Australia. Skiing was fun too but it was limited by the lift line and time going back up. Jet skiing is limited by water access and is expensive in my area (Japan)
