Do you own a /toy/ of your favorite car?
>>29047705
Toy no, multiple model kits, yes
>>29047729who makes good kits???>>29047728anything better than hot wheels?
>>29047774Not much better. My dad bought me this because I drove the same car 20 years ago, but tan colored.
>>29047705What are you a child?Just buy the real thing.
>>29047774What car are you looking for? Aoshima and Fujimi are the best overall, if you ask me.
>>29047774Anything but Revell
>>29047705Very enjoyable. Can deliver drinks.
>>29047853I can tell you haven't built anything from Round 2 Corp. Barring their Polar Lights catalogue, they are just as bad, if not worse.
>>29047729It's a toy bro
>>29047705I got one of my car
>>29047943painting and assembling models is generally considered a more acceptable hobby than just buying toys which requires no effort
>>29047943A toy you can't play with? Dingus
Just bought this.
>>29048503God damn they look so good
>>29048505Hate to shill buy hobby lobby currently has a 50% off sale on model kits. Gundams included
>>29047705yes, because it only exists in toy form
>>29047705I'd post pics but I'm not on my main pc. I race slot cars because it's easy to vac lexan over a model and airbrush it. It's cheap to have a library of bodies.
>>29047705I used to have a hotwheels 71 Nova that I used as a hood ornament on my 71 Nova. Previous owner at some point had drilled two little holes to mount one, so when I saw the toy at the checkout line of my local Food City I grabbed it. Happened to be the same color and everything.
These cars are so cool
>>29047705I have kind of a dilemma, at my local store the Reject Shop they'll have a big box of $2 cars and there are some cool ones but also a lot that people don't like such as those weird concept cars. By buying these we encourage them to manufacture of the real life cool cars but also possibly some child will no longer get that car. As a kid I got real excited just seeing those cars in store and sometimes even getting one. For non car enthusiasts I think they get their kids the box of generic no name cars that sort of look like name brand cars.Other times you see the higher detail stuff that costs about $10 but I don't any parent would ever their kid something like that.Cool $2 ones I saw was a 1995 Chevy Nascar, 80's BMW's, 3rd Gens, Shelby Cobra, w124 500e, 68 280s. I usually also take them out of the carboard as I don't really care about value and like to park them.>>29047780I think it would cool to make an rc car out of something like that. They have sales during christmas for 1/18 metal cars.
>>29050287the toy aisle has basically been the exclusive domain of adult collectors and scalpers since covid, though the transition was apparent in the years before. even hot wheels is extremely collector catered and makes a lot of bone-stock cars instead of the show-car style that the brand is known for
With the window masking still on...
I don’t have my old matchbox cars anymore. I had one that looked like a white convertible bmw with stripes, I think it also had a red interior. That one was my favorite. Aside from that you reminded me I have a model toy of my current car. it says motor max 1:18 scale on the bottom. I bought it on ebay a few years ago for like 30 bucks.
>>29047705 That will be four hundred bucks.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j43GX2-gwSQ
>>29051013slot car, right? The way body is styled made me think of vintage rc.
I've one of these buried somewhere.
>>29047705I was thinking of buying a mini-car for every car that I've owned.
I've got a lot more, this is an old picture.
>>29047705When I was a child, yes. When I became an adult, I bought the real thing.
Idk if this is the right place to ask but I found these two die-cast model Cadillacs in my community dumpster today. Are they anything special or nah?
>>29052323Forgot pic
>>29051652Ooo edgy. You are now an adult so your penis has to find a female to impregnate.Grow up ffs. Get a life. :)
>>29051034looks great, older motormax has alot of details in their cars same with maisto too
>>29052324looks like a signature diecast caddy and a maisto caddy, these seems to be older releases so they might be worth abit, although they are from a more budget brand If you like them I think its worth bringing them back and try restoring them, they look like they just need a cleanup and touchup with a chrome pen
>>29052350Lmao this nigga is seething
>>29052350>"G-g-g-g-grow up">collects hot wheels as an adultlollmao
>>29047989Changes literally nothing about whether or not it's a toy. If you cut down an elm tree and carve a wooden duck with wheels, it's still a toy
>>29048022They're not dolls, they're figurines MOM
