>go to mechanic to get oil change>by the way i have this squeak can you check it out>>yeah it's your brake pads and rotors and calipers rubbing that'll be $600+tip+tax>ok let me think about it, i'll be by to pick it up>>oh hey we were lowering it and noticed your back brakes are rusted and need to be replaced that'll be $400+taphow much did they screw me
sounds fair to me
>>29048910I've literally never heard of tipping a mechanic, nevermind you could've done half that shit yourself with one Google search
I had a dealership quote me $4,600 to change my brake pads, just the pads, in 2008 (that's probably $6k+ now). "They're Brembos so they require special pads and precision technique." I did it for under $200 in less than an hour with nice Hawk pads and I was a teenager and that was my first time ever messing with brakes.$1,000 for brakes and rotors isn't great, but it's fair. A 16 year old could do it in 2 hours having never worked on brakes before so you'd still save money doing it yourself.
Funny enough its not a bad price for brakes and rotorsHowever your still getting fucked for not doing it yourself
>>29048924>>29048918i dont have any of the tools and wouldn't trust myself to do the brakes>>29049357it was $600 for just the front axle.
Sounds like wrenchlet problems.
>>29048924>teenager>BrembosWelcome Caucasian people
>>29048918Some people do. Most times it's just keep the change, but people do it for other reasons for example old lady comes in absolutely panicking cause her brakes are making a horrible noise. I find it's just a stone caught between the rotor and caliper. Remove it, no charge miss. Then she'll give you 20 bucks because she's so happy and tells you to get lunch but you get beer instead.
>>29048910Brake companies putting squealing on their pads specifically for women and retards like you will never not be the funniest thing>hey my brakes are making a squealing noise can you check it out?>yeah your pads are worn buddy, when you brake it wears out your brake pads, your car actually doesn't just drive forever and you do actually have to replace the wear components
