>scheduled for 10:30
>walked in at 10:25
>waited less than ten minutes before my number is called
>most of the appointment is just the lady typing stuff
>out before 10:50 with new plates and stickers in hand, and the title in the mail
titled and registered a car from out of state

The somewhat rare DMV worker that actually gives a shit and is focused is a blessing, plus the stars aligning to not have tech errors. I had to come back the next day for an out of state registration due to tech foibles and/or California being particular about something. The desk I was at was having trouble with the papers, but the guy who had processed my stuff yesterday called me over and I was out the door five minutes after that. i should have thrown him a 10 for a beer or something, he sees probably hundreds of people every day but remembered me and went the extra mile for what could have been a huge headache to solve on my own.

In my state you can transfer the registration online provided the car is certified as roadworthy but a) it never is and b) even if it is, the boomer I'm buying it off is always too retarded to figure out how to do it so I have to go in and do the humiliation ritual. ffs just do the online transfer it take like 2 minutes if you have an above room temperature IQ. Gotten to the point where I'll legitimately cough up more cash if the seller has their shit together, it's usually a good sign a retard hasn't owned it anyways.

What's with you Americans and your DMV issues? Here in Leafland even with the Jeets and Asians registering their $100k Tesla's when they can't speak english you're usually out of there in under 10 minutes. As long as you don't wait until the end of the month like the rest of the morons it's pretty painless. I don't know what your problem is when you probably have more DMV's per people than we got.

On what occasion do you even have to go to such a place? I’ve been able to do everything at the county courthouse.

>You want to use the classic license plate on your car?
>Sorry we can't do that here, you have to go to the DMV

AAA is for boomers that can't use the dmv website

>why are these things allowed to live and breathe in the united states of america?
They are very good slaves. They take pride in how hard they work and for how little pay. They are also mentally incapable of knowing what a union is.

Its a california thing, not a U.S. thing.

I was born and raised in cali. The state i knew is long gone. The last time I did DMV in cali it took 4 hours. Nevada actually has cool kiosks in the DMV for registration renewal that are like ATMs. You type in your information or just scan your renewal notice and if everything is in order it prints out your sticker right there in less than a minute.
In the state im in now ive never waited in "line" for more than 5 minutes. The office is usually empty and it take longer to wait on the printer than anything else (I have 6 vehicles).

Every DMV in the US is staffed mostly by Shaniquas. They aren't very concerned with how long anybody waits.
>>
>>29051126
Places like California have a specific entity (Depratment of Motor Vehicles) that handles registration and licensing. Because the courthouse is overloaded with criminal cases.

CT went to appointment-only and it's great.

Last time I had to go to the DMV, I made an appointment and then still stood in a line out in the rain for nearly 3 hours alongside over a hundred other people. Every 15 minutes, a worker would come out and make sure we were all lined up by appointment time and I finally spoke to someone at the counter at a little after 5pm. My appointment was for 2pm.
