You think some amateur could have fucked up a truck AND a bridge as well as that? I think not.

Can't wait for A.I. to take over this industry.

>autodriver detects an obstacle that would collide with the top of the trailer
>stops on the highway
>>
>>29051828
Normally I would assume this is as praise of A.I. behavior, but this is 4chan where I've seen people complain about used prices being too low.
>>
>>29051833
It's better than crashing into the bridge, but the real issue lies in route planning, and until you've mapped every bridge in the country your self-driving algo can't do anything but react in the moment which is less than ideal.
>>
>>29051435
This appears to be a freeway. Was the trailer not of standard height? Air suspension adjusted too high??????
>>
>>29051885
Don't containers usually go on specialty trailers? That one just looks like a normal flatbed to my inexperienced eye
>>
>>29051885
>>29051889
Yeah, containers should go on a step deck if you're gonna do it with a "normal" trailer. Gonna bet the actual height on that was over 15 feet where the usual dry van trailer height is specced at 13 foot 6 inches and is frequently a bit less.

I feel a likely scenario for this is that a low-cost ( misclassified) 1099 driver got told to go get this load and never once thought about the height because all he'd ever done was cheap shit like shingles in his whole 10 days of driving a truck.

Literally already been done. Theres a database.

is there any reason why we shouldn't have specced into freight trains instead?
>>
Sat at a quarterly safety round table a few days ago and they showed us a vid of one of our (former) drivers passing I shit you not at least 10 GODDAMN "NO TRUCKS THIS EXIT LOW CLEARANCE" signs, taking the exit, and getting sardine-canned. Dude was on the phone and told the company he didn't see any signs.
Some of these people I swear get their CDLs from a cracker jack box and makes me want to really aim for 1mil safe miles to rub it in these jeets faces.

Rail freight was already dying in and around NYC, no thanks to the actions of (((Robert Moses))) and the (((PANYNJ))).
