i´ll start:Fabia 1 Combi with the 74Kw 1.9TDI>small+light>soft ride>reasonable power>ridiculously good handling in sharp corners>infinite grip in winter with good m+s tyres, basically a snowmobile>extremely light steering (electro-hydraulic)there´s just a charm about going on spirited drives with it, you rev to 4K RPM and just send it on a twisting, winding backroad, the car leans, let off the throttle, loose the backside a little, it´s just such fun. never has she dissapointed me.The handling is immaculate, there´s something special about the car, the way it takes corners is ridiculous, idk if it´s because of the center of mass, the suspension, or whatever, it eats sharp curves for breakfast, it´s so fun to drive, especially in winter when the road is covered in snow, that car can do wonders with good tyres.I don´t know what it is, but i love her with all my heart.And what´s (your) favorite funtime nugget to drive?

>>29052176had the alh version of the 1.9tdi in a vw wagon from 2003. 5 speed obviously. died last month due to the injector pump rebuild being way more than the cars worth, ultimately due to VW design flaw of standalone injector pump with no tank/lift pump, on top of a handful of other issues that just were beginning to pile up. wish dieselgate didnt kill the 1.9/tdi scene here. this will always be my favorite car, dad bought it new in 2003, learned stick in it, and for all but the past two years it was rock solid. i think the vag transmission in these are underrated. not super tactile, but not sloppy either. the gates are kind of heavy. really really satisfying shifts and you know when youre in or out of gear. clutch like a garage door spring but again, really satisfying. if you use the whole rev range, and get terrible mpgs by doing so, the engine is sort of the same way, satisfying revs. easily a B tier or higher driving experience of manual cars ive tried, and this thing was under $16,000 brand new with options in 2003.not to wax poetic too much but while cleaning it out before sending it off on a tow truck (i donated it for tax writeoff once it stopped starting) i found a grocery list my dad made in the storage under the trunk floor. made me tear up a bit honestly. when they run im not sure this is a

>>29052648it´s been my daily for 2 and a half years now, i´ve driven like a few other cars, including a 200 hp bimmer, and this one is the most fun. out of the normal/sensible "go to work and go shopping" cars i´ve driven this one handles the best, especially in winter.i see it when i ride in friends´ cars, one of them has an old ass combi ford, the other drives a toyota yaris. The fabia is prone to loose the ass easily in winter the second you let of the throttle in a corner even a little bit, but that´s not issue if you just don´t do that. I´ve driven 100Km/h on packed snow on a certain semi-twisty backroad near me multiple times last winter, the car eats shit other cars would not be capable of with drivers way better than me.

The car certainly has it's big upsides, but winter performance ain't it.You can get a big power boost if you get some new and modern fuel injectors (it's a big extra if you got a cheap petrol engine, like 1.4 16V) or just clean the diesel ones. Steal some light aluminium wheels of your local second hand website. 5x100 pattern has a trillion wheels to pick from.It's definitely a fun car, but you hit the rev limit 2 seconds in. I've had a 1.4 version, but I've driven plenty of 1.9tdis. I slightly prefer the golf 4 for that budget range.

You can get the EU 8th gen ufo-civic type S with 2.2 idtec. DPF delete and stage 1 tune with polish JR rep wheels (the SL01). Pushing nearly 400 nm and 200 hp.You get something pretty insane for next to no money. Just pray you don't need to repair anything.
