Why isn't the C30 more popular?
>>
>significantly heavier than a GTI
>no boyracer badge, so boyracers didn't want them
>turning circle is pretty small, for an oil tanker

People that want a hot hatch wouldn't think
>I should check out what Volvo has to offer
They're the station wagon company
>>29053201
These are also good reasons, the turning radius is weirdly ass, the car feels a lot bigger than it is
>>
>>29053199
>mk2 focus st but heavier

>300 lbs heavier

Not a huge difference tbqhwy

You gay son?

>mk2 focus st
Not sold in the states

>>29053214
Just because it's how much you weigh doesn't mean it's not a lot.
>>
>>29053214
It's 10% on 3000lbs.
>>
Also apparently they weren't super popular in Swedeland because they're a little too willing to throw the ass out in the snow
It's a crime that they never made an AWD one
>>
>>29053199
I found one near me in manual after hearing one with an aftermarket exhaust, sounded like a quiet V10. Turns out the engines and transmissions weren't great, you couldn't modify them so the aftermarket never really took off. Its a slightly larger focus that cost more to buy and cost more to repair. Plus it was FWD only making it ho-hum in general that was competing with Focus, Fiesta, Honda, and Toyota.

They do look and sound alright, an AWD and a robust engine could've been the winning ticket. We'll never know now.

Everyone online that I've seen really get into modding them is supremely autistic.
You can swap in the AWD from an S40/V50, and a different Haldex controller can give it RWD bias. Definitely not the car for you if you want to make big power, but people have been able to push 300hp pretty reliably.
Torque steer would probably be crazy with much more than that anyway. It's got enough to break every speed limit in the country without much effort which is all I really want out of a daily.

>It's got enough to break every speed limit in the country
So does a 150,000 Geo Metro. Drivetrain swaps just to make 300hp is why this car never got popular. Might as well just buy a Focus or Fiesta AWD and do some minor bolt-ons and tune for that.

>>29053232
The 0-60 is basically the same
>>
>>29053272
>Fiesta AWD
Never existed
>>
>>29053272
You can make 300 with just a tune but you'll risk cracking a cylinder wall unless you shim it, just like the S60R. The AWD swap is a separate beast and there's really no good reason it wasn't a factory option.

>>29053283
Also a 3rd gen Focus ST at C30 prices will have been hooned for double the mileage or have a salvage title
>>
>>29053235
blame ford accountants for that
its still an excellent hatch
>>
>>29053386
I do quite like it
>its still an excellent hatch
The hatch itself is actually a little on the small side, funny enough
>>
>>29053611
It has decent backseats as the tradeoff

Decent back seats but getting in them is kinda a pain, especially if you have the power seats lol
Rearward visibility is also excellent because of how the side windows are angled. I wish it kept the crazy see through A-pillars from the concept car.

>>29053199
Because it's just a Focus in a less practical body
