It's 2026 and Americans still produce
>Big displacement V8
>Rear wheel drive only
>Naturally aspirated cars
>Supercharged engines

In Europe, we moved on to high-revving twin-turbo hybrid setups and AWD.. A 2.0L 4-cylinder, hybrid from Stuttgart or Munich makes as much power as a supercharged V8 american car and doesn't require a petrol station stop every 100 km.

I like that americans cling onto the past and try to make it work despite the meta having shifted. That in itself shows true dedication to making a driver's car rather than something that is carefully calculated to obtain a number with no personality.
>>
Is it true Europeans view American cars as being unsophisticated and brutish?
>>
>>29054718
going by how people react when they see an old mopar or chevy rolling around over there, they love it just as much as burgers do
>>

Superchargers don't have the lag in throttle response that Turbos do.

>>

Europoors drive the lamest little cuckwagons imaginable. Like 0.00001% of Europeans will ever even sit in a car that has the ability to go 100mph
>>
>>29054718
Any honest American also views American cars as unsophisticated and brutish.
>>
>>29054717
I can only speak for bongs, but the general consensus amongst any normie with an interest in cars is that American cars are unsophisticated gas guzzlers with massive V8s that produce as much horsepower as a tiny inline 4. It's to a point where a lot of people, even more technical minded car autists, have a pathological dismissive attitude to american motors unless they are an americaboo who even then are unlikely to actually buy an american car because of that ingrained cutural bias of "merican cars eat fuel".

There is like a half a dozen japanese car importation companies here but there is only one US car importer I know of and that's in london, a place so metropolitan and disconected from the rest of the country that most of the workforce in london don't actually live there despite it being the capital.
>>
Combustion engines are archaic no matter how you twist them.

these people have clearly never seen a modern day hemi or ls

Didn't say it was a rational take by any means. Half those people slather over V8s if they are made Rover despite being an old as fuck design

These threads always make me laugh when you remember that the average euroturd (of all the ones who can afford a car in the first place) drives around in a miserably small 0.5L 3 cylinder turbo diesel shitbox making 102 HP lmao.

Because fuck you that's why. Try driving a big American v8 car. Also we generally aren't poor like euro fags so who cares

Some European modern engines can break even before 100k km.

Americans do engines right. Yank supercharged V8s make as much power as their German hot-V turbo counterparts, if not more.
Supercharged engines just feel better as well. The blown V6 in my Jag is ridiculously smooth and responsive. You miss a little bit of low-down torque compared to a turbo car but the throttle response more than makes up for it

Norway is a country where local emergency services have to resort to registering off-road vehicles as tractors to circumvent the idiotic regulations that banned the purchase of combustion-engined off-road vehicles.

Furthermore, from 2026, Norway is limiting tax incentives and charging VAT on electric cars, and from 2029, a road use tax may be introduced, requiring a one-kilometer cost of 29 øre per kilometer, which electric car owners will also have to pay.

I wonder if EVs will still be as popular in Norway then?

>A 2.0L 4-cylinder, hybrid from Stuttgart or Munich makes as much power as a supercharged V8 american car
A V8 from Stuttgart or Munich makes more power than any lame ass 4 cylinder from the same cities (inb4 muh hybrid boosted HP numbers). It'll last much, much longer, too.
We don't care about "petrol stops" because you can buy a fucking Prius, Tessie or some diesel shitbox if you want to be "economical".

>>
Is there a use case for low displacement engines in non-displacement tax countries? Half the time it doesn't even seem to make engines lighter once you add the turbo infrastructure. Not to mention that displacement taxes seem to heavily penalize higher efficiency atkinson cycle engines which intentionally sacrifice hp/l.

The median gross full-time individual wage in Norway is approximately NOK 54,000 per month (~$5,000–$5,700 USD or roughly $60,000–$68,000 per year), whereas the median individual personal income for full-time workers in the United States ranges between $50,000 and $55,000 per year,

>high-revving twin-turbo hybrid setups
6000 rpm isn't high-revving for a 4 banger.
high revving is the EJ20 at 8000 rpm
or the F20 at 9000 rpm
the 'stang with the coyote makes top power at 7250rpm and the predator is at 7400 rpm
>and AWD
you mean FWD with sometimes sending torque to the rear wheels.
even if you take xdrive as an example, it is available mostly with LSD on the front wheels only, even on "top trim" cars like the //M135.
there is no european company that doesn't make kitchen appliances on wheels and this has been going on for the last 45 years.

its an emissions thing. the famous honda civic vacuum line diagram spaghetti is also the end result of having to sell cars in California. the overall complexity of engines increased to comply with legal regulations. motorcycle engines that are less strongly regulated tend to be much simpler

my friend who loves japanese cars always likes to shit on american cars because of muh hp/l. I mean sure, a mopar 318 or a ford 300 makes a whopping 150hp out of the factory because of smog equipment and mild cams, which is about the same as an sr20de, but at least american V8s have tuning potential (I'm not sure about the ford 300, seems like a boat anchor to me even though I own one)
