try buying a used car in the rust belt.

t. missing the point

Yeah, I'm sure I can make 4 drum brakes stop as well anything modern. It definitely wouldn't involve replacing them all with disks and cost as much as a whole nother car.
>>
>>29056957
no you're missing the point. brakes are easily replaceable and irrelevant to what you're buying as a used car buyer. the part that makes it a car is less replaceable.
welcome to the rust belt, motherfucker.

drums actually have more braking power, from more surface area and the shoes forcing themselves deeper against the drum when used. The problem is they suck balls at heat dissipation so you can probably do a panic stop *once* then you had to let it cool down for 10, maybe 20 mins or longer.

>>
>>29056983
i have like 6 titles and they are not in the same place and i have no idea where most of them are.
doesnt matter cause i run my cars into the ground. last shitbox sold for $1200 and had to pay $120 for a new title. oof
>>
my shitbox that was not costing me anything suddenly cost me 1,400 bucks possibly over 2k if there's more trouble

>>29057021
depends on the state. some states give you the title but record a lien against it, others just give it to the lienholder.
>>
>>29059092

compared that to 10k a year in payments and you're still saving money. People who buy new cars for reliability are retarded, new cars always get problems too
>>
>>29059092
$1400 / 12 is ~$116/mo. $2000 --> 166/mo.
Most cars 2015+ are well over $10k and monthly on a standard 5 year loan is >$200. And add higher insurance costs than your shitbox, and it's not like they are immune to breaking down.

Keep the shitbox running until those repairs are like >$4k/yr
>>
>>29059058
Amazing that you think I bought a fucking Honda Civic to impress literally anyone lol. I wanted a new car. I’ve had many, many cheaper cars and switched to a new one. That’s all. I have other, cooler cars anyway. Pull your head out of your ass, jealous poor.

Idk if I’d call myself retarded with money, I just enjoy different things than you. I’ve bought two brand new cars in the past three years and still have them, no vehicle debt tho. Seethe I guess lol
>>

This is why you need a shitbox honda civic like J. Cole, then people recognize you are humble.

>I just enjoy different things than you
There it is. The singular crutch they always fall back on to avoid any sort of quality control.
>im entitled to my opinion bro
No. We're entitled to a better world where new cars aren't hideous overpriced plastic spyware bricks that die after 5-10 years of ownership. Anyone or anything impeding this needs to be removed the equation entirely. We tolerate too much nonsense, and that needs to end. It needed to end the moment the problem even reared it's ugly head, but no, anything for """"progress"""".

Let’s recap this conversation:
I bought a new Civic
>NOOOO YOUCANT DO THAT YOU HAVE TO BUY A PREOWNED SHITBOX LEXUS OR SOME MYTHICAL 400HP SHITBOX OR EVEN WORSE A FUCKING VOLKSWAGEN
ok so no, I don’t want those
>schizobabble about quality control and there being some kind of problem
>>
>>29060033
Honestly, I don't give a single shit about the original topic. It pivoted towards what I'm talking about the moment you used the same weak excuse stupid people use when anybody wants any kind of quality control in any industry to make a return.
>its just my opinion
>we just like different things
>some people like this
I know exactly what I meant in my post. I don't care if it was relevant to your original non-topic or not, I will keep pointing it out as much as needed. The fact that anything I said sounds crazy to you speaks loudly of how fucking far we've fallen. If you really don't like it that much, just don't read it you moron. Cover your eyes and wait for somebody with more brain capacity to read it instead.
>>
>>29060038
lol so you ARE a brain dead, paranoid, mouthbreather. You enjoy your pile of shit VW and probably made up “400hp car” and seethe that I bought a Civic. It wasn’t an excuse, it’s just a fact. I don’t give a fuck beyond that. Kill yourself desu, sounds like the world would be better off without you anyway.
>>
>>29060040
I'm not that anon who was talking about their diesel golf, so no. Your temper tantrum does not apply to me.
>sounds like the world would be better off without you anyway.
What world? The flock camera-infested surveillance state that wants you to rent everything instead of own it? The world that's constantly setting itself on fire over bullshit? The world where you can't raise a child without the high risk of finding out they've been groomed into a hypersexual retard on a Discord server even if you're doing the best parenting in the world? The world where you run the risk of getting stabbed by some random negro for just being in the wrong place at the wrong time? That's not the own you think it is.
>b-b-but none of that has anything to do with wat i said! 400hp volkswagen uhhh moving goal posts and
Eat my nutsack. Cover your eyes, stick your fingers in your ears and say lalalalala.

So you took it upon yourself to reply to me on an anonymous basket weaving enthusiast board and expect me to know you’re not that specific retard, but another retard who also is an unmedicated schizophrenic. Here’s a tip for you, bud, listen to the voices and put the shotgun in your mouth. Being that paranoid about the world around you, not realizing you have free will and the ability to live in peace and privacy, is an unhealthy and miserable experience. End it already, you’ve clearly given up and have no drive do do anything else.
>>
>>29060049
>So you took it upon yourself to reply to me on an anonymous basket weaving enthusiast board and expect me to know you’re not that specific retard, but another retard who also is an unmedicated schizophrenic
Should have asked before you assumed, nigger. That's on you for trying to sound like a typical basket weaving enthusiast board tough guy.
>not realizing you have free will and the ability to live in peace
I actually do, I just think it's disgusting what kind of world we're living in and it really should not be like this. So of course I'm going to point it out no matter who doesn't like it.
>is an unhealthy and miserable experience
We're all already living a much more unhealthy existence. I don't think pointing out that we live in a shithole and demanding better is unhealthy. That doesn't sound like I've "given up" and "have no drive to do anything else".
>listen to the voices and put the shotgun in your mouth
>End it already

fuck I hope my shitbox never breaks. I make minimum wage. if my car dies I’ll have to find the shittiest unwanted car on craigslist with what meager savings I have. fuck car payments and fuck new cars and fuck especially making $500+ on soccermom cuckovers like CUVs. and fml
>>
My problem isn't financing, it's doing it with high number of months at a high interest on a commuter car. Commuter cars like rav 4s should be 60 months max at 500/mn max. Anything above that should on be a sports car or a heavy duty truck. Get used and don't get raped
>>
>>29060100
The long terms are really just for retards buying stuff they can't afford or with bad credit. 500*60 is 30k, plenty of things MSRP under that even brand new with no discount. Retards either trade their negative equity car in, have bad credit and get double digit interest rates, or just can't afford a new car at all, and the dealer throws extra months on the loan so the monthly goes down because low credit retards don't know they'll end up paying way more over the course of the loan.

If you can get dealer promo rates (0-3%) or through a credit union (4-7%) and can put 20-30% down you're not gonna need to stretch the loan and the monthly is never going to look awful. Also plenty of the credit union loans can actually be paid off early for no penalty. tl;dr unless you are a retard you probably won't ever pay >500/mo for 60mo
>>
>>29058827

Yes the Si is stick, 6 speeds with rev matching and hill assist, but it uses premium gas and Honda's 1.5 turbo engine that shits itself at or usually before 80k.
Other that the only manual option is the Civic Type R. Honda doesn't make simple cars for simple people anymore.
