Is Hyundai and Korean cars finally, dare i say, good?
>>
too early to tell but their recall history and warranty statistics suggest "no"
>>
>>29059130
I hear their dealership experience is still extremely awful in the US. I was considering a Genesis as a daily driver and checked out the local dealer and there was nothing but horror stories. Despite it being Hyundai's luxury brand, the dealer was just as bad, if not worse, than your average Hyundai dealership
>>
>>29059130
They're bottom of the list for reliability. I rather roll the dice on a used Range Rover.
>>
>>29059137
yeah because Hyundai gave existing dealers first dibs on the luxury brand rollout, whether or not they had any previous experience with upscale markets. loyalty and tenure over competence, classic Asia
>>
>>29059135
While they have good warranties, they will pull every trick in the book to weasel out of it, more so than most other manufacturers
>>
>>29059137
Damn, was considering a GV80 Coupe Prestige Black but this has changed my mind. BMW X7 here I come!
>>
>>29059130
That one definitely isn't.
>>
USG
only the N division fucks
>>
>>29059130
I'm now one year into ownership of a 2024 Ioniq 6 SEL, 6,000 miles, so far so good. Just got a letter in the mail saying the ICCU warranty has been extended to 12 years / 180k miles kek
>>
>>29059130
They're worse than ever
>>
>>29059208
That's not true at all. Both Kia and Hyundai are way better than ever. Kia's latest cars are gay cancer though in other ways and best avoided. Hyundai is doing way better.
>>
>>29059159
>GV80 Coupe Prestige Black
>bmw x7
bro at that point just tell a maserati dealer to take 15k off a v6 grecale
>>
>>29059130
I won't drive a car that has slanty chink eye headlights.
>>
>>29059286
It looks so shit in every car. Especially when it has that LED stripe that goes around the entire front. Looks so shit.
>>
>>29059222
Tell that to the engine warranty recalls. The kia rio from 20 years ago was a dogshit shoebox but at least the motor would make it through the warranty
>>
>>29059203
>6000 miles in a year
Just get a moped

It looks a bit too cyberpunk 2077 (not that its a bad thing)
>>
>>29059130
not until they revamp their stealership experience that still targets and sells to the bottom 2% of population.

I thought that was nissan
>>
>>29059347
Nissan is eating shit right now because Hyundai is cannibalizing all their sales
>>
>>29059298
yeah I work remote so I don't commute. I can't do a bike though since I have to carry shit, and I prefer not to get instakilled in a crash
>>
>>29059237
Why would you do that when you can just get a stelvio qv?
>>
>>29059433
cuz its a 10 year old design and they've done fuckall to update it
sad cuz the engine is great
also kinda small

I worked with a woman who bought a new hyundai like 2 years ago and it broke within a couple months. Then they kept the car for like a year because they couldn't get parts. No offers to swap the car or take off some money or void the sale or something, I think they just gave a really shitty loaner that had to be swapped out for another shity loaner every few weeks.
Last I heard the car still worked but I haven't talked to her for a while so idk. Still wouldn't ever get one on purpose
>>
>>29059137
>Expecting a $70,000 Hyundai to be any good
lol
lmao
>>
>>29059433
because it's a long wheelbase stelvio qv with cooled seats and surround cameras
stelvio doesn't make sense at 80k anymore when the grecale is v6 across the lineup and comes with better everything (at the cost of weight, which if you care then get a giulia in the first place)
>>
>>29059419
Get a Suzuki burgman 650. It has room for all your sex toys with the built-in storage areas.
>>
>>29059130
i like the styling. make it in a v8.
>>
they definitely have the best design of the mainstream brands
>>
>>29059289
I haven't seen a single set of LED headlights that look good since the patient zero R8 prototype.
>>
>>29059137
>>29059322
Aren't scummy dealerships universal regardless of car brand since they operate independently of the manufacturer?
>>
>>29059130
hideous hunk of dog shite. gouks can't build cars to save their fucken lives.

squid game should be a documentary
>>
>>29059286
Good news for you then that the Avante/Elantra doesn't have "slanty chink eye headlights". It has a regular normal headlight housing located just beneath the DRLs.

Maybe not. I just had an oil change done and theres an EPB switch failure. Also the transmission has been feeling off lately
>>
The Kia soul is literally the only Kia I ever see being driven that is more than a few years old. Local dealers have a ton of used stock of Hyundai and Kia at all times. I doubt they'd last longer than their warranty
>>
>>29060448
Why are there so many used Kia Soul's floating around?
I see some older Kia sedans (forte, elantra), and a rare old Sportage or Sedona minivan (yes they still exist) but way more Souls than anything else.

>>29060443
I bet it's hot there.
>>
>>29060459

It is. Sometimes I think the heat will be the death of my new car. I was able to get it on 0% interest for 5 years
>>
>>29060459
I've seen businesses using kia souls as fleet vehicles - utility locating places like USIC and Vannguard
>>
>>29060285
Eh not really. *Generally speaking* the german premium brands like audi/merc/bmw treat customers well (not talking about service costs, just the professionalism)
>>
>>29060473
How old is it? I don't think they have sold the Azera nameplate here in America in a number of years.
Is it nice to drive? Are you American military, local brown, or American military brown?

>>29060558
>takes 2 months for part to arrive from Goymoney
>but at least they are respectful
>>
>>29059130
Most /o/tists will argue against it but i think hyundai is making the most interesting cars on the market at the moment, both mechanically and visually.
>>
>>29060599
Visually they are more or less identical to Kia, and I find them quite ugly. They seem to be trying too hard to present a futuristic look which is the opposite of unique and interesting for a mechanical car and downright cringe and cliche for an EV.
>>
>>29060603
People complain all cars look the same and then complain when a manufacturer offers something different. Its not a new concept.
>>
>>29060608
Different doesn't mean good, this is also not a new concept
>>
>>29059130
No
>>
There is an alternate way to gauge reliability now. The stats on recalls and maintenance issues are fine but you should also check the reddit and sometimes facebook pages for the model you're interested in. See how many posts are about maintenance problems relative to general posts about use and mods (positive experiences and quality of life upgrades rather than critical fixes). With hyundai/kia it's heavily weighted towards posts like "engine replaced under warranty after 15k miles: my experience".
>>
>>29060599
>i think hyundai is making the most interesting cars on the market at the moment, both mechanically and visually.
Interesting way to phrase it.
It is captivating to watch a car catch fire because the mechanical engineering is so bad. You aren't wrong.
>>
>>29060443

It's 2026 brand new. Funnily enough I did see a few videos about Hyundai's EPB and it's non repairability due to manufacturer 'DRM' when it's actually an electrical fault. I didn't expect to affect my vehicle

Yeah the Azera/Grandeur is not sold in America. It's now only sold in Korea, Middle East only afaik. No not American or local.
>>
>>29060290
how many recalls has ford had in the last 6 months?
Anyway my EN has been fine so far and I’m at 60k miles or so. Hyundai makes some dogshit but the brand as a whole is much better than it was in the 2010s
>>
>>29059130
