Why are Mazda3s so based?
Mazda has nice paint
I actually like the hatch a lot. Shame you can't get the manual and 4wd together
>>29061847reddit car
>>29061857lmao. 20 years later and they still can't into paint. Junk. https://www.reddit.com/r/mazda3/comments/1k0w0d4/rust_spots_on_roof_of_2020_mazda_3/
>>29061866This is why PPF exists
>>29061867What's going to happen when you go and peel that shit off?
>>29061847Based I own one. The turbo one performs effectively as a diesel. You can tow some lighter loads with it.
>>29061870who can say
>>29061847Perro kaka.
>>29061870nothing unless you buy cheap shit or your car had a shit repair
>>29061847They're kind of getting worse, though. Hatchback just keeps getting smaller.
That hot ~90 lb zoomer chick with a tight ass who smokes weed and cigarettes with me at the loading bay behind work drives one. Ahhhhh~I think it has some shitty trailing arm or live rear axle shit going on in the rear suspension, unfortunate.
Why do people shill this shitbox?>ugly>turret-tier visibility>can't have manual and turbo
>>29061932Because it's better than all the non-CUVs at that price point? There are maybe a dozen cars left in manual, and that includes shit like the Wrangler. 12, tops. Most sedans and hatches under $30k are pieces of shit, the 3is at the level that should be the norm.I would never drive an automatic or an FWD / FWD-based AWD, but if I did the 3 seems like a solid choice.
>>29061949NGL, modern automatics are making me question the value of a traditional manual. In the 90's and early 00's (and of course before), a manual meant you got better MPG, more power to the ground, the ability to launch, usually more ratios, etc. You got a reward for putting in the effort of clutching and shifting. Nowadays, it feels like Amish-tier holding onto the past. Why is the H-pattern manual where you draw the line? Why not Model T controls if you are a die hard "old school car guy"? I have 3 H-pattern manuals because I have 3 90's cars and automatics were shit then, but I'm struggling to see the point in a manual for a car from 2015 or newer unless the auto option is CVT or otherwise trash in some way.
>>29061974Manuals are fun and exciting.Automatics are boring. That's all the justification I ever needed. 7/7 cars manual, no intention to change.Anyway I only said that because the guy rightfully pointed out you can't have a manual with the turbo engine. It's sad but there are literally only 10-12 cars on the market in manual at all. Better than nothing. And no, I would never buy one myself. Miata.
>>29061978>Manuals are excitingHappy 16th birthday, sportI just don't see how a clutch pedal vs. a manual mode in a modern auto is a world apart. Like, it's better because you can money shift? Do you really like playing DDR in slow moving traffic? It would be different if it got more respect like "well, you lost the race at the light, but you drive a manual so all my respect goes to you", but no, just faggy mcgee slapping his paddle shift and blowing your doors off and then giving you that little wave out of the window. It's even worse on circuit tracks where you have to fight for your life getting perfect heel toe downshifts and they just get to tap a paddle while focusing 100% on brake pressure.I think it's the fact it's a handicap rather than a performance edge is what bothers me, it's doing extra to be slower. Made perfect sense to go manual in the 90's when the manual was faster, but now...I don't think I see it anymore. It's like people that still use command prompt instead of just clicking shit, like what are you doing?By all means go manual on a pre-2010 car or anything that comes with a CVT or a known failure-prone auto, but aside from those exceptions...why?
>>29062468What's fun for you. I've always been in the "if I just wanted to go fast, I'd ride a roller coaster" camp. Driving a manual, yes even in traffic, I had my first manual in NYC, is more fun than driving an automatic. Engaging mechanically with a piece of machinery is enjoyable. It's the same reason riding a bicycle is a joy. It's the same reason that I have a kick start motorcycle with a carb. It's the same reason a mechanical keyboard is more satisfying, it's the same reason I write with fountain pens, it's the same reason I use a hand crank pasta press. Machines have been better than us at everything for a long time now. Its about enjoyment.
>>29061932This. No turbo manual? WTF? And Mazda interiors are so dark and cramped, it's like sitting in a coffin. I can't imagine picking a Mazda 3 over a Civic or Corolla, especially the weird hatch with the god awful visibility.
>>29061847On what?
>>29062880On yo mudda cuz the ass so fat.
>>29061847I remember this being the most recommended new car on /o/ for several years. I was going to buy one but I caught that retarded "chip shortage" a few years back and literally couldn't find a single one in stock near me. Now my brother has one and I'm a bit jelly. Best interior and driving feel amongst current gen econoboxes.
based on what?
Post it. You know.
>>29061847Based on what, selling sub-par, rattly econoboxes to broke normies that think they look "upmarket" and "premium" inside? They were based, when the Mazdaspeed division still existed and when the Mazda3 actually still had a competent chassis.
>>29062482Bicycles, kick start motorcycles, mechanical keyboards, fountain pens, and hand crank pasta presses (what the fuck?) are all gay as fuck IMO. So, basically, nowadays manuals are people that insist on doing too much for no advantage and are basically retarded, got it.
>>29061932>>can't have manual and turboWho's gonna warranty your manual transmission learner car? Nobody, just stfu and buy the slushbox you faggots NPC
>>29063445I like the car, but I can deliver the goods.>perro caca
>>29063730LOL, unironically probably why it's not offered. So many entry-level manuals get COOKED by the retard owners that just slip the clutch all around town and do redline clutch dumps like Gran Turismo and think it's OK and fine.
>>29063742Thank you
>>29061866my 2017 has a similar problem. also peeling clear coat on the trunk.
>>29063743Simply replace the clutch, it's not like having a torque converter or DSG clutch go.I assume that they didn't want to design an entirely new AWD manual transmission and add that to the cost of every car, as the turbo is AWD only. And AWD manuals have to have stronger gears, a 2WD can spin tires, AWD impulse forces will shatter gear teeth. They decided it wasn't worth it with the estimated manual take rate, or didn't have the time and manpower.Missed opportunity, it could've become a competitor to the GRs and we might've seen an AWD turbo tuning war like the Evos and STis of yore.
>>29063742Sedan solves the perro caca issue but sadly the normans aren't buying it
>>29063753Problem isn't replacing a clutch dumb fuck, it's niggers literally grind gears for years before ever learning to shift. There's no point in buying used manuals, there's no point in manufacturing and then offering warranties on manuals.
>>29063756>Problem isn't replacing a clutch dumb fuck, it's niggers literally grind gears for years before ever learning to shiftI have not witnessed this IRL. I've known quite a few hooligan kids to do dumb shit, tFatF was HUGE when I was 16. But, looking back, I didn't really see anyone do anything too egregious. A cople clutch dumps here and there, a little harsh movie-like shifting, but I never saw anyone float gears or even burn the clutch from slipping in the bite zone too much......Unlike the kids who got "gifted" automatics and would rev in N then dump it in D at every light - I did see that. I knew a guy who would shift into L or 1 or whatever any time he'd enter a parking lot so it'd be revving higher and everyone could hear his welded-on axle-back muffler.
>>29063763>I have not witnessed this IRLtheres no more manuals being sold, no company is dumb enough to do it when they can keep ther reliability numbers up for JDpower reviews lol. If you really think about it, the fact they used to sell manuals with warranties is actually insane.
>>29063790Manual transmissions have fewer failures in the wild than automatics, and they're cheaper and easier to repair. What warranty claims? You're imagining this scenario. The reason for manuals disappearing is because most people do not want to have to do more physical exertion everyday when they're tired and just want to go home. The number of degenerates who want to play rasekar (like I do) is pretty small.
>>29063807you sure its not an issue where warrantying a complex piece of machinery becomes too expensive since nobody has a dad anymore?
>>29063809Manuals fail less.Admit you were just making shit up. (or not, I'm sure you won't)
>>29063754The sedan also solves the visibility problem. It seems like the better daily compared to the hatch. The problem is it's probably the most generic and boring econobox on the road. It looks like the designer's goal was 'make an affordable car without any interesting or exciting traits'. No manual option on the sedan. Better car than the hatch as far as I can tell, but also more gay and boring somehow.
>>29063753>simply>replace a clutchI guess you've never done that job before. And up and down stream parts get damaged, too, from the heat soak from riding it so much.
>>29063813>People have dads now and warranting a manual trans in 2026+ is a good ideaOk, I'm convinced
>>29063937My [currenty] 75 year old mom taught me manual. My dad can't turn a wrench for shit. They both still drive manual at that age. It's not difficult. I've been clutch dumping, clutch kicking, donutting, burnouting, track daying, autocrossing, and slamming gears at redline in 10-30 year old cars for over 2 decades and never had a clutch go out. The clutch cylinders, sure.I have known quite a few (10+) of normies to have their cars totalled when the torque converter or DCT shits out.
>>29063807It's also because there is literally no functional advantage to manuals anymore: slower, worse MPG, risk of money shift, chance of dumbasses riding the clutch and wanting it fixed under warranty, etc. Automatics today are almost foolproof and will usually last the life of the engine no problem if not absolutely abused.
>>29063950I enjoy it.What I don't understand is why you're so militant that other people enjoy something that you don't like. Are you old enough to be here?
>>29063870the sedan solves the grug visibility problem
very ugly melted blop design
>>29063959Explain that. Why is that exact moment in history what you "enjoy"? If I retrofitted a Model T style clusterfuck transmission, would you enjoy that since it's even more tedious and retarded?
>>29063996You don't get it and that's fine.I would have to spergdump so hard and you'd just not read it or call me buzzwords.
>>29061847Ok a Mazda 3 drove past me earlier. It had to be a 3 because the kick up on the rear door but it had about as much rear overhang as pic. Confused, Ideas. I'm UK.
>>29063950You sound like a Microsoft Excel drone. There's more to life than choosing the most optimal set of numbers for a task
>>29063756>There's no point in buying used manualsguess i need to throw mine away which has been fine for the past 10k miles
>>29064024Cars are about acceleration and handling. Everything else is just autism-stimming.
>>29064031That's true for you I'm sure
>>29063996>durrr why do u enjoy xStop asking stupid questions
>>29063996>Having sex is a lot of work and it's totally groooss, my hand can bring me from 0 to gasm-basm-jimjasm in 2.7 seconds! This is what your arguments sound like to me.
