Tell me why I shouldn't buy a dodge viper?
You should, but don't penny pinch the tire budget and most certainly do not expect a "luxury" experience.
>>29062810You're not skilled enough to drive it.
>>29062810The Corvette is better in pretty much every way. Vipers only make sense if you're going to drop $200k and make it some 2xxxhp street car.
Roof?
>>29062819Disagree. C5/C6 are comparable. Maybe c7 to the newer vipers there's a case to be made there. It's really the tire / suspension that makes or break either platform.
>>29062810Its about as quick as a Corvette for at least double the cost. Repairs? Triple. Mods? Quadruple. Yeah its rad and everyone will know you have a special car, you'll be in financial ruin and grow to hate it.
>>29062819Viper makes sense if you like the Viper more. Not everything is about spreadsheets and hyper optimization.
>>29062867It's a free country. Buy a $60k toy if you want but just know there are better options out there that are better at more than just "spreadsheets and hyper optimization".
>>29062810I'm 10,000% certain the viper has finished depreciating
>>29062810I love the idea and concept of a Viper, but personally I couldn't justify the cost of a Viper over a C5 Corvette. I'd probably even get a C6 Z06 over a viper even though they're in the same territory when it comes to pricing purely because I feel like a Viper would be a pain to maintain and keep up compared to the Corvette. Picrel, my C5 Z06
>>29062867For real, what kinda fag doesn't want a v10?
>>29062918V10's are pointless. If you really want a V10 save yourself $60k and buy a $1000 school bus.
>>29062920>more cylinders and more displacement is pointlessOK retard
>>29062949I mean the viper V10 is an amazing engine, but for the sake of argument, say another shittier car no one cared about had a V10? No one would care. The actual engine configuration doesn't matter much. The viper would be a legend no matter what engine configuration it had assuming it still performed the same way.
>>29062810They're sexo. Viper on CCW classics gives me a boner.
>>29062952part of the reason it performed the way it did is because it essentially had big block chevy power crammed in a very small package. a big block chevy wouldn't fit under the hood of a regular viper and other V8s didn't offer the naturally aspirated power a Viper engine did.
you will crash it and die The side exhaust will burned your leg
>>29062812Tires are the killer for that damn thing.>be dodge>tell engineers "make a car that bends the laws of physics">engineers think outside the box to the point they build mobius strip incarnate in physical form>want to take it to nurburgring and scare the panties off every ferrari ownerNobody makes a race tire the right size.>contact khumo>eh, fuck it, our reputation is a joke and we have nothing else better to do- sure we'll make you some tires">have major blow-out on lap #2 and total car after setting record on lap #1Look it up.I know, it was an independent and not a factory team but they had all the support from Chrysler you could imagine.
>>29063071>they had all the support from Chrysler you could imagine.which was? the entire thing was crowd funded. chrysler didn't do anything.
>>29062952This is a stupid argument. Of course if a 4 cylinder existed that magically had the exact same specs as a v10 then nobody would care about the v10 (except for sound still). It doesn't exist though, because that's not how engines work, the layout of an engine goes a long way to determining its mechanical characteristics
>>29062952>for the sake of argument, say another shittier car no one cared about had a V10? No one would careexcursion?
Dat V10 is just incredible. the torque curve is pretty damn fat and has plenty of power unless you're at idle.I would like to drive a Viper to compare to my Ram SRT!0. The torque delivery is amazing even though you don't have much weight over the rears. Morons always told me it was a death trap. But I had always driven trucks and it was easy to find her limits.
>>29062910WAOW JUST LIKE JAPAN
>>29062810Looks great but another money pit
>>29063908>money pit Not really, it takes a lot of oil per change, but that's pretty much the only expensive part of ownership. I guess if you crash a lot the costs would add up, but that's true of any car. Only real maintenance I ever had to do on mine was replace the power steering pulley, and that wasn't explicitly necessary, it was mostly for peace of mind.
