TALK TO ME, BABYWHISPER IN MY EARCOME A LITTLE CLOSERDON'T HAVE NO FEAR
#METOO Reeeee!
>>29063716a shot or two of liquor and they're fuckable
>>29063691No one cares about your ancient shitcans, boomer.
>>29063727>t: dead on arrival
>>29063691Chrysler was more of a sedan company back then and they sold fewer two door cars and convertibles than Ford and GM. Their 50s engine roster is also very large and confusing.
>>29063745they had a common engine roster but each of the four divisions modified them for their particular needs
>>29063716 predicted >>29063727
>>29063736that shit would get gapped by a Kia, you senile fuck
>>29063762
>>29063762A sedan from 1955 is getting gapped by a modern car, huh. I never would have saw this coming.
>>29063762Wow, just wow.
>>29063736exactly . faster those old fuckers die out , better for rest of us .
>>29063784Sure, kiddo.
https://youtu.be/9XK1-8Vfa14I feel like I'm in a smoky middle class bar in what I imagine 1955 to be and people are swaying around to the music. Not a bad song, not great.
>>29063784that accident was probably about 30 mph lol
>>29063786In that time you would have probably heard jazz or torch song stuff in a bar. This pop music slop was for kids, adults didn't listen to those kind of records.
>>29063758Yes. I could pretty much recall every Ford and GM engine from the 50s from memory, but Chrysler engines I'd need Wikipedia for.
>>29063791Hmm, you learn somethin' new every day.
>>29063791Slop wasn't a thing back then.
>>29063798It was, lol. The 50s were notorious for it.
>>29063791>In that time you would have probably heard jazz or torch song stuff in a barOr country. Jazz was more an urban coastie sound.
>>2906369155 was a windfall year for car sales in the US, also the first year when sales of automatic transmission vehicles exceeded manual ones.
>>29063806You're an idiot.
>>29063691I like driving at night while listen to archived recordings of radio broadcasts from around the same years as my cars.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_-ldQ08hhyA

>>29063691don't these boomer cars need leaded gas additives?
>>29063862not if the engine has been rebuilt with hardened valve seats
>>29063862For normal driving, no, only high comp performance engines from 1955 to '72 ever needed leaded gas. A standard grocery getter engine does not.
>>29063786I was thinking more of the Gene & Eunice original than Como's cover.
>>29063862As a general rule, yes, but it can depend on the engine. Engines that use aluminium heads already require valve seat inserts, and a surprising chunk of those inserts are already hard enough to not need an additive, such as in the case of my Rover V8, FIAT 500, and 280ZX engines. Iron headed engines, though, will generally always require hardened seats, as the factory seats are usually cut directly into the head.>>29063866No? Even regular grocery getters can and will produce temperatures that cause seat recession.
>>29063951>>29063866I should add that some engines retain "leaded memory" and will run on unleaded unfazed for a time due to the localised hardening from all those years running leaded, but it doesn't last forever, and if the valves or seats get re-cut or lapped, then they lose that protection and will fail in short order.
