Have any /o/tists owned an 850?
Yeah.>understeered more than I would’ve liked>seats comfy>cooling system woes>AC evaporator AAACK (dash out job)>some parts were hard to getI bought an E36 328i after which I preferred as a drivers car, and had a decent chunk of change leftover for maintenance. An M3 would be more comparable in terms of price and would shit all over it performance wise. Vulva was definitely better made tho
>>29065747Oh and this probably goes without saying but just buy one that’s already good and not a project bc they are a bit finicky. Better to pay a bit more for a sorted one. This goes for any aging europoor technology
>>29065762>>29065770>putting up with this for volvo
ive had a few
what does anyone whos had one of these think about the suspension? in old reviews a lot of people mention stiff suspension but to me they all feel a little bouncy. i dont have any motor mounts left, on stock sways and ends and have koni yellows and 1.5" drop springs. so mines very stiff and rattly but every other one stock or heavily modified has felt very bouncy even with upgraded suspension and swaybars and endlinks. i just want to know is this a me thing or is the volvo 850 actually a lot tamer than everyone made it out to be when it came out?
>>29065747Does the S70 count?
>>29071039not op but to me, yes, very much. especially 98 the peak of the p80.
>>29065747Does it have a transverse inline-5? I think I took one look under the hood and went FUCK NO. transverse i4 is already shit. fuck transverse i5.
>>29071622haha yea. i grew up working on them so its easy for me. ive done so many timing belts and cam seals n stuff and every time im like damn i wish i was looking into a honda bay right now. whats crazy is how simple and easy it is compared to new cars. 850s dont even have vvt.
