Why can't America make dirt bikes? Japan, Spain, Italy, France, Austria, and UK can.

why can't europe make trucks. not lorries, but trucks for civilians.
>>
>>29066301
Europeans don't use trucks. Americans use dirt bikes.
>>
>>29066298
Because that takes real engineering. It's the same reason why there are no American super bikes.

>muh buell
Yeah, but do you know anyone who owns one? I don't.
>>
>>29066298
You're forgetting India.

labor costs are too high and the austrians/swedes have already perfected the trail bike while the japs have figured out motocross
>>
>but what about the americans?
>>
>>29066315
Except they do, retard.
>>
>>29066352
so americans make a super bike proving they can do the "real engineering" and your answer is that not enough people own it so it doesn't count?

what a faggoty ass gayboi. I bet you lick semen out your step dad's dick.
>>
>>29066298
american anything is heavy just like their obese population
>>
Currect American brands see no benefit in making off roaders because the realestate developers don't want you out there so they can bulldoze more land for suburban sprawl.
>>
Alta Motors should have been the top EV off road motorcycle brand, but went bust when they relied on Harley's money and Harley rugged them.
>>

>60,000 trucks for a continent
wow. must look like an SEC tailgate.
>>
>>29066541
americans make the most iconic off roaders in the world. hell, all other off roaders like the original land cruiser, G-wagon, and land rover, started out as just jeep clones.
>>
>>29066544
that's far more than the number of hyper cars that are sold in america, and yet, americans make hypercars. why can americans do a european thing better than europeans and europeans can't make trucks despite there being a market for them.
>>
>>29066416
Italian bike.
>>29066298
We make badass dirt bikes. Cannondale made one but it got killed by the 08 recession. Christini makes awd conversions of existing bikes which is what customers want.

Truth is there’s not much market for it. BMW tried and failed. The Japanese have bikes that are realistically 40-50 years old made with Thai labor. BMW tried and got btfo like Cannondale because no one actually wants a bike that isn’t Japanese.

Half the Italians are just a chassis with japanese(Thai) guts.

Hoping Ducati actually makes it because they’re the first full effort dirtbike put out in decades. Everything else has been incremental bullshit.

Americans make flat track dirt bikes, not jap dirt bikes. Not that'd you know that

>random vaporware company that never produced anything should have been the top EV off road motorcycle brand
why?
>>
We had ATK dirt bikes, they were made in utah
>>
>>29067457
>vaporware
i rode one at the desert 100 a couple years ago before they went bankrupt. Not as refined as a stark varg but still pretty decent bikes
>>
>>29067457
they were good and poised to do well but then got hostile takeover'd by Harley and all their projects shelved after the Serial One failed
>>
>>29067557
that's not how the wikipedia page for them reads to me
it sounds like they were going to have a partnership but once extensive due diligence happened harley decided it wasnt in their best interest
am i missing some information? why would they have outcompeted stark or surron or chinese e bikes ?
>>
>>29067585
>why would they have outcompeted stark or surron or chinese e bikes ?
surron was very new, stark still exists but is overpriced. presumably with dealer support from harley alta would have been competitive, but alas, they hired a jeet ceo and then a woman ceo, it was already ogre for anyone attached to harley in any way
>>
>>29067469
Wasn't ATK mostly just importing and badge engineering Maicos? The ATK Intimidator for example was just a Maico 700cc 2 stroke thumper
>>
>>29066352
I don't know anyone who owns a Ferrari so Italy obviously knows nothing about motorsports
>>
USA doesn't have a sport bike culture to branch off from. We have big straight roads. Cruiser culture. Harley type companies don't have the DNA to make dirt bikes.
>>
>>29067791
It's kinda funny because Harley got big by making government contract bikes for WWII which weren't far removed from a dirt bike
