I've seen the light. I'm officially hybrid pilled. I can't believe in hind sight how long I spent driving cars that only got between 12-18 mpg
Fusion Hybrid? Good cars. I'm the same, i can't go back. I'm looking to buy a new car and get out of the Prius im in but i only end up at one place. Another fucking Prius. They are just too good.
>>29070552>12-18 mpg in my slushbox>37.1mpg in my hybridHow the hell do you get mpg that low? I'm sitting on 37.4 in an NA petrol.
>>29070575>I drive a pathetic europoor cuckbox!Epic.
>>29070578>cuckbox!Is that how you view every car with a manual transmission?>Slushbox I need you, switch my gears!
>>29070552>37.1mpgThat's what my Jimny consumes which is the most fuel inefficient car on the market.
>>29070552pretty shit for a hybrid but then again its a ford, my nd gets liek 36 kek
>>29070592>>29070594tiny shitboxes without AC and sub 100 horsepower get average mpgs? WOWEE!
>>29070552Haha fag,Just get a Diesel. My 03' Jetta gets 600mi out of a 14 gal. Tank
>>29070552>67 miles>11 Ev milesKek, he got an EV with a battery the size of a tampon. I doubt it could power his dilator for more than 20mins without the engine kicking in.Nice going troon.
>>29070651In a hybrid the battery capacity is completely meaningless. It is sized only to reach a required power output. In practical terms this means keeping the battery below 3C, even if you can go a lot higher on paper. If you cant plug in spreading the average power cycle from 30 second to four minutes is worthless. It is actively dead weight at that point. It may be helpful to consider non-plugin hybrids as glorified transmissions, the fact they store any energy at all is a fluke, not a feature.
my 03 jetta got 55+. hybrid fags suffering to achieve the results dogshit european diesels figured out ages ago
>>29070591Bud, I have a 485 HP manual muscle car.
>>29070675Of course you do.
>>29070592If you're in the UK, you guys measure MPG differently from the US. 37mpg in the US is like 45 in the UK.
>>29070675Meanwhile Veyrons on 38mpg...
>>29070690Are you retarded?
>>29070591I think he was probably referring to the hybrid as the "europoor cuckbox" and not the slushbox comment but I don't expect stickfags to not have paper thin egos lol
>>29070552Wait until you are EV pilled and no longer need gas or oil, and the car is faster, and it costs $4 to "fill up", and maintenance in general is lower.
>>29070752What country sells the Jimny and uses MPG other than the U.K.? Does the U.K. use a larger gallon than the U.S.?
>>29070780>Does the U.K. use a larger gallon than the U.S.?Gallons the same, it uses a smaller mile:1 US mile = 0.822 UK miles.
>>29070752
>>29070782>Gallons the same,No it's not lol.>The US gallon is defined as 3.785 liters, while the UK (imperial) gallon is defined as 4.546 liters, making the UK gallon approximately 20% larger than the US gallon.
>>29070785Nah, >>29070782 is right. A UK Yard is also larger than a UK yard, and pounds are fucking way off. An M5 is over 5,000 pounds in the US, but it's over 100,000 pounds here in the UK. Wild.
>>29070690I checked and 37mpg translates to like 6.3litres per 100km. I average between 7.0 and 7.2 litres per 100km in my Jimny but I rev the tits out of it so that checks out.
One of the things that fascinated me about the Fusion/C-Max drive train. It has a D and L selector, but low functionally pegs the engine at 4500-5000 RPM instead of picking a fixed gear ratio, so it is safe to use at any speed and can be used either to accelerate or engine brake. I've always thought the perfect manual CVT would be an RPM picker rather than a gear ratio picker but I've never seen any car take that idea all the way, and Ford's implementation is only halfway there.
My wife's 2020 manual Corolla gets 6L/100km when I beat the piss out of it. When I hyper mile it I can get down to 4.5L/100km
>>29070775Been there done that. Had a job nearby and I could get by with just the wall charger. I had to start driving more, a lot more, and it was either shell out $3500 to get a charger installed or get rid of it. So I got rode of it.
>>29070786>An M5 is over 5,000 pounds in the US, but it's over 100,000 pounds here in the UK.
>>29070669>>29070640yeah but 1.9 tdis just nickel and dime you because they're all 200k+ mile clapped out 25 year old volkswagens >>29070552how do you like it op, im genuinely considering a cmax hybrid as a <$5k daily. that or i try to find a 2015+ prius c with black seats (i hate the light grey) or a manual fit that isn't a rusty/riced pos apparently the 2015+ ford hybrids are good, 13-14 and some 15s had shit bearings in the trans that die at 100-120k miles
>>29070611Miata has 180hp and ac, how does that compare to Ford fusion?
>>29070552What's your 0 to 60 time? I get the same mpg and get 0 to 60 of 4s on a m/o/torcycle instead of some fucked and cucked hybrid
are you the queer that went in for a gr corolla and came out with a priusyou should get your t-levels checked. next thing you're gonna be posting your grocery store coupon victories
>>29070690I get 14-17km/L which is like ~35mpg
the hybrid part is only good for city driving ?
>>29070876I looked at this and a Cmax but the center console/dash arrangement on the Cmax sucks. The touchscreen is too far away from the driver and the shifter is the largest and most obtrusive thing ever put in a car and I hated both the look and feel of the steering wheel. Conversely I instantly loved everything about the Fusion. I liked it so much I bought the lowest mileage one I could find in the entire country that wasn't white black or grey. I can see myself still driving it 20 years from now. Even though it doesn't really get that good of mileage because it uses a 30 year old engine and 15 year old hybrid tech, 37 combined is still good. A Camry hybrid might be a little better but I would have to drive 500,000 miles just to break even on the Toyota tax
>>29070592>the most fuel inefficient car on the market.2025 M5 is 13mpg
>>29071429I see, I'm leaning towards the C-Max since its smaller and seems like its tuned sportier being a Euro Ford vs US Spec Ford. I'll have to sit in one and see if I like the ergonomics since I'm a stickler for good ergos in a car.The Toyota Tax is real. I originally wanted either a Prius C or Prius V. I prefer the C since I have a bunch of 4x100 wheels from my Miata that would work but I like how long the V is like a older Camry Wagon where you could camp in it if you wanted to. I can't find a facelifted 15+ C with black/grey seats for under $7k without it having 150k+ miles. I can't find a facelifted 15+ V with under 150k miles for under $10k unless it has beige interior. That's why I'm also shopping for a Fit (more fun since manual, 4x100, and it seems like $5-7k also gets me a decent 2nd Gen or a good deal on a 2015+)A comparable CMax/Fusion Hybrid 2015+ is $5-7k with 100k miles. The only issue I find with them is that the transmissions aren't as strong because Ford ofc didn't spec as good bearings as Toyota (stator whirring/high pitch sound on HF35s) until Aug 15 2015. https://www.reddit.com/r/cmaxhybrid/comments/1e8oygz/cmax_transmissionbearing_issue_what_am_i/https://ford.oemdtc.com/3394/thumping-rubbing-or-grinding-noise-from-transmission-2013-2016-ford-c-max-fusion-lincoln-mkz/
>>29070801L is essentially only for towing to get more engine braking. In these hybrid configurations there is nothing that naturally slows the vehicle, so it must be emulated with the electric motors going in reverse (regen braking). But because of the lack of engine braking you are only left with the limited capacity of regen braking and then the disc brakes. L mode just adds the engine braking back in, but overall using this when you don't need it reduces efficiency and doesn't really help you accelerate because of the parallel driveline being mostly electric torque. All L mode does otherwise is make you use more gas.On the Maverick if you enable "slippery mode" you actually get better mpgs on the highway because the automatic regen braking is set very low. Eco mode is actually bad for the highway because automatic regen is very high. Only gain eco mode has in a hybrid is it will cycle the AC differently to avoid using the gas engine as much to charge the battery.
My $2500 motorcycle gets 80mpg (burger) and is $150 to insure nigga are you even trying to save money.
>>29071688>>29071688My Maverick gets 40mpg and costs $128 to insure while having your motorcycle in the bed (tailgate down)
>>29071693I meant for the year.
>>29071701Oh, carry on then
>>29071341>the hybrid part is only good for city driving ?It can definitely also save fuel on curvy, hilly rural roads, the sort where your speed ends up varying a lot because you either slow down for the curves, or you end up wrapped around a tree. Or bathing in a lake or a bog.I managed 2.8 L / 100 km (around 84 US MPG?) on one such road recently.
