2018 Nissan Sentra>110k miles>buying from dad who fixes cars for a living>$4k>know cvts are have cancer from the factory>he bought it several months ago from the auction >transmission problems because of course>he replaced the fluid and filters >said it didn't have any problems after that>he used it as a run around car>I want something to commute to work in that gets more than 14mpg>test drove it and couldn't detect any belt shudder>everything works, drives perfect>some people tell me never to buy one and some tell me you can get 300k miles out of them of you're willing to change the fluid every 30k milesStill it's a CVT and replacements are expensive as fuck because you can't really rebuild then as the metal shavings from the belt melt everything.Should I? Is this a good deal or is my pops trying to fuck me?

its a 4k car. if it makes it a year and needs a transmission thats what 4k cars do.
