Ford focus 2007 1.6 diesel hatchback. It's stuck and it won't budge. Tried prying it with a screwdriver and rope, doesn't work. I imagine it's some faulty cable but idk how to get to it without opening first. So? What do I do? I unscrewed the panel and unplugged the lock, this didnt do anything. I checked the breaker, it works, I put it back in, nothing. I'm out of ideas. I'd first like to open the back door so i can work on this easly, as of now i have to lay down in my car. Ultimately this needs a permanent fix. My best guess is that some cable out there isn't connected to the lock, how do i determine which cable? Thanks in advance
There should be an emergency release for the trunk which bypasses the electronically controlled release mechanism for the latch in the event of a collision where power is not available. In some cars you have to pierce the upholstery to get to it.
>>29071411Yeah I assume there HAS to be a way to open it, but i'd rather not break the fabric of my car to get to it.Any clue as to how to get the lock to work properly long term?

>>29071461this is the wrong carmine's the 2007 model, which looks way different
>>29071502The basic principles apply.Remove those two square pieces in the picture, unbolt the latch. Remove the trim.
