Why have all it's competitors fallen by the way side over the years while the Mustang remains?
>>
Cheap garbage that appeals to women never fails.
>>

Americans love the Ford meme. Best selling trugg and best selling sports car.
Objectivity does not really factor into it.

But what about all the Euros that love them too?
>>
Why'd they copy the Camaro for the 2nd gen?
>>

U wot m8?
>>
>>29071935
this is the worst mustang gen by far. it was basically an economy car with a mustang badge.

They got V8s once the fuel crisis waned. It was also a lot smaller than the late 1st gen bloatstang.
>>
>>29071956
they're not really supposed to be small. not ford galaxie sized, but not economy car sized, either.
>>
>>29071873
Because the Mustang is Ford's main image car, which wasn't the case for it's competition. The exception was the Challenger, which died because Chrysler is Chrysler
>>
>>29071943
>it was basically an economy car
you will never guess what the mustang came from

It wasn't an economy car, it was a girl's car.

Falcon was the economy car.
>>
>>29071963
what it came from and what it is are two different things. the mustang II was just an economy car with a mustang badge. no bells no whistles.

The Corvette wasn't the Mustang's competitor
>>
>>29071873
Ford generally hasn't messed up too bad with the styling and marketing.
Chevy had messed Camaro sales up by accident twice now.
>>
>>29071975
At least Chevy never tried to sell anyone a rebadged Mitsubishi as a pony car.
>>
>>29071973
Maybe not nowadays, but 60s/70s corvettes and mustangs could easily be considered competitors

The Camaro was released specifically to be the Mustangs Competition. The Thunderbird was Fords original Corvette fighter.
>>
>>29071982
*Meant to, but clearly not really.
>>
>>29071980
absolutely not
fucking learn some shit
>>
>>29071984
Lol
Sure
>>
>>29071980
If the Corvette was the Mustang's competitor, GM wouldn't have been shitting their pants getting the Camaro out to compete against it, nor would they have crippled all of Pontiac's attempts to make their own Corvette.
>>
>>29071993
Lets not forget the fact that a Corvette was almost twice the price of a Mustang in '65. This guy is going full retard trying to claim they were competitors.
>>
>>29071995
twice the price of entry, then all the upkeep and parts (hi-test gas, a fiberglass body that can't be easily repaired in a fender bender, more expensive radial tires, etc), and then insurance reaming you even more because it's a car that _only_ comes with a V8 and two seats and insurance companies weren't fucking retards by the time the 60s came around
>>
>>29071993
Thatwas the biggest travesty because the Pontiac version looked way better, just like all Pontiac products looked way better than the Chitrolet counterparts.
>>
>>29071995
Lol
F35, Saab and Rafale are all at completely different price points and features, yet they're literally competing for the same market
>>
>>29072003
Correct, they are also supersonic jet powered airplanes sold exclusively to governments, not passenger cars
>>
>>29071873
Styling that was nice but not polarizing while also not being too impractical for daily use. Most important of all was that the car shared so much with other Fords it was more of a question of why WOULDN'T you build it than anything else. This has been lost since the S550, possibly even the S197's, and is what will eventually get them canceled. Ford is actually way outside their norm in this respect so it's kind of surprising they haven't canceled it. It's also where the blasphemous talk of the 4 door Mustang comes fro in trying to spread sales out over a larger base. Mustang needs to move to the Explorer platform so there's at least some commonality with another Ford product if it's to survive much longer. OTOH there's some indication that demand for sedans is increasing, or at least that SUV's have topped out, and there some rumblings of Ford returning to the sedan market and perhaps Mustang could be paired with that

>talking about cars
>F35, Saab and Rafale are different prices too!!@!
>>
>>29072003
>they're literally competing for the same market
you are being intentionally reductive by making this market "an jet," ignoring the 200 factors that go into actually picking one. a euro country looking into rafales is more than likely not even going to be considering fat amy from the land of burgers and backstabs. in car terms, you are making this market "sporty car," when it's more like
>do I really need two more seats?
>can i fit my shit in the trunk for a road trip?
>does it even HAVE a trunk?
>how much is a V8 worth to me?
>how long do I intend to keep it?
>what are my normal driving conditions like?
>brand loyalty
>available supply
>money money money
you're looking at it from the perspective of a child comparing his favorite matchbox cars, not an adult who actually has to think about things beyond shape and color when purchasing his automobeelio. your "sporty car" market does not exist in this scenario; it's "designated sports car" in one market and "somewhat sporty yet practical compact car" in the other.
>>
>>29072008
If you need a more mundane example...
You're telling me Macs and PCs aren't competitors because they're at different price points? Who's the retard, now?
>>29072011
>Please, saar, do not compare
Exact same endless considerations beyond mere price, kud; and that's, regardless of actual product lol
>>29072013
Literally wrong, and reducing it to europe as well (India, Gulf, for two other examples)
>>
The bots and brown people are fighting again
>>
>>29072018
>You're telling me Macs and PCs aren't competitors because they're at different price points?
This is a far better comparison that trying to use jets. But it's still a bad comparison because macs are for brand captured retards and anyone with a brain buys/builds a PC.
>Exact same endless considerations beyond mere price
If price wasn't a consideration no country would buy a shitty Saab Gripen when the F35 is clearly far superior.
>>
>>29072037
>Unless daily logins and Pentagon mission vetting aren't your cup of coffee/tea
Only a clueless retard thinks you need completely similar offerings to be considered competition:
>Lower spec/price point
>Higher spec and price point
>Anything in between
You think the US/Europe are shitting their pants about dirt cheap chinese cheap dirt for no reason, when made in the USA/Germany/whv is at a completely different price/quality point?
>>
>>29072018
Well, you're still the retard because you wanted to compare military fighter jets to sports cars, and then decided to pivot to Mac and PCs like PC is a name brand, not a general term to refer to any non-Apple computer. Is a 2015 prebuilt Windows 8 laptop used by grandma exclusively to play solitaire and download malware comparable to a MAC? Is a Linux gaming rig built at home comparable to a MAC? Both are Personal Computers (PCs)
>>
>>29072102
>Relationship doesn't exist since I can't get it
>Can't get it first time; more accessible examples are pivoting
>No, you
