States are currently implementing automated systems where an ALPR can tag you and the system sees you don't have insurance.
I think some of the bigger insurance companies will even rat you out to your state if you fail to pay.
They don't even pull you over, you get a $300-500 fine in the mail and if you don't show up at the courthouse with proof of current insurance in 30 days then you lose your license.
So, good luck with that.
