I intend to keep this car around for the next 15-20 yrs at least. My reasoning for buying this: it's premium quality and kinda luxurious, it's very practical to haul stuff on a trailer, and to move things about.

Also, big road presence, greater chance of survivability in case of an accident.

Yay or nay?
>>
Raptor or bust
>>
>>29073702
I googled tremor vs raptor and read a couple paragraphs bc your stupid so the tremor is a street truck for more capable offroading than other models and the raptor is an offroad truck that can drive on street so pick stupid
>>
>colours

Id just build something off-roady myself than have that gay assed orange everywhere
>>
>>29073726
How can you "build a car yourself" are you some kinda one-man auto assembly plant lmao..
>>
>>29073702
Tell me why you "need" a truck and I'll tell you why you're wrong.
>>
>>29073728
Meaning you can buy a base model with the same cab/bed layout for half the cost of that and replace/upgrade parts and end up with a truck with equal specs & performance for $20k less.
>>
>>29073702
>I intend to keep this car around for the next 15-20 yrs at least.
So why are you buying a truck with bunch of electronic diffs and other "offroad" bullshit which you will never use and will offer you nothing, and then they will break when you do try to use it.
inb4:
>yeah bro I'm totally gonna go "offroading" in my 5000lbs long wheelbase vehicle with a shit weight distribution, shit ground clearance and a shit breakover angle because I'm retarded.
>>
>>29073769
E lockers are much more reliable than air
>>
>>29073781
f150s can be sold without a locking diff. Hence me saying adding an ediff is just adding extra shit. Nothing > ediff in the context of reliability.

you also have to deal with more 4wd hardware/software
You also get to deal with offroad suspension
Additional electronic controls etc.
and these aren't a standard volume vehicle so everything bespoke on this isn't as tested as something more commonly sold.

Every single thing they add is another failure point you've added, and for what reason? just to larp in a parking lot while you're getting groceries? If you want to go offroading go buy something that can actually offroad. If you don't offroad why are you spending more on offroad hardware especially if your concern is reliability.

>inb4 .ca muh snow
My wife drove a veloster for the last 5 years through several winters with 6-12 feet of snow. A fucking fwd open diff manual hatchback that's like 5.5 inches off the ground. Female driven too. You don't need locking diffs and an offroad package to drive through some snow.

I’m convinced this is a bait post because I was just talking in another thread about how the Maverick Tremor is the worst fucking mispriced truck on the market.

$45k Maverick. Congrats. Elite bait.
>>

Get get a 250 tremor instead
>>
>>29073811
Lockers are great
You shouldn't buy a pickup without one
Your 4x4 is just 2wd without em
If you buy a 2wd make sure is has a helical or lsd at the very least
>>
>>29073702
>i intend to keep this car for the next 15-20 years
okay good luck with that. these are the new boomer debt traps built for the lowest common denominator.
>bigger road presence
kek
>greater chance of survivability in case of an accident
rollover risk is much greater, meaning what could have been a much more minor accident becomes a total loss of the car and some serious but usually non fatal injuries. also people tend to drive these cars more aggresively because of "road presence" and higher seating position. i noticed this anytime i drove any of our companies trucks.

Do you think the luxury bullshit is worth paying ~25,000 syrup tokens plus interest over an XL 5.0?
>>
>>29073702
Why does it look like that?
>>
>>29073702
No. It's too much money for some shitty OEM compound AT's, some shitty 1.0 Ranchos and some tacky gold shit.

seriously considering a Ford Explorer Tremor with the 3.0 Ecoboost.

currently driving a Kia Stinger GT, love the power and handling but even with the big hatch the overall versatility is lacking compared to a 3-row SUV and at 110k miles its completely out of warranty and repairs are increasingly expensive now that they are out of production and parts are limited.

The 3rd row in an explorer is pretty much for marketing and unusable. Shit even the 2nd row looks kind of cramped. If you need a 3rd row buy a minivan or something
>>
>>29073829
I have a 2WD and I had an LSD put into it. Good enough for Florida. Hate these threads, always some OP that wants a truck and thinks he needs more justification than "I can afford it so I'll buy it" and then you get that trip fag seething that people want a full size over a Maverick.
>You don't need a truck because x y z
Well you also don't need anything with more displacement than 1L, only 3 cylinders and no sliding doors. Coupes only.
>>
>>29074796
How much does it really rain where you live? 20% of the year? You can just order door dash, you don't need room for groceries. Just buy an electric scooter if you reeeeeeeeally need personal transit, but you should really just walk to the bus stop. Honestly you don't need to leave the homeless shelter at all, and we'll have ubi any day now, stop being so selfish.
>>
>>29074789
2nd row seems to work just fine for police purposes, never spent any time back there.

Third row seats are a meme in anything but a full sized SUV or minivan, good to have in an emergency but really it just means it has a good amount of cargo space behind the 2nd row.
>>
>>29074824
The piggers don't care if the jogger they have in the back is comfortable they're transporting them for a couple minutes to the jogger hotel and moving on. I've been in a nicely optioned explorer and was surprised by how cramped it is, I don't get it. At that price point it doesn't make sense
>>
>>29073717
I feel like Raptor is wayy too much for what I need. I like a comfy car
>>
>>29073744
I don't actually need a truck. I need some thing that combines the abilities of everything into one. And is relatively cheap. Like 2-3 times of the year I might need to haul or go camping

And should be hybrid or electric, to save on fuel

And should be luxurious on the inside

And should be able to do minor off-roading. Snow capable.

How about this King ranch? Blue color outside, brown luxuriant leather inside. But I can't afford w my current salary (72k CAD) :(
>>
>>29073888
Didn't get u
>>

Why not get a 4runner instead? Genuinely want to understand your reasoning.

Who cares about faggy econobox npc vehicles. Why is this on /o/?
>>
>>29075151
I can point to a number of turbo/ turbo4 engines that are problematic
Water intrusion on all the small Ecoboost
3.5 had many teething troubles
Honda fuel dilution
Cracking Subaru pistons
Kia/Hyundai lol
GM eco tech drinking oil
3.4tt tundra is a turd

But this engine? Radio silence
Theyve made a shiton of them already and no one can point to one fatal flaw
>>
>>29075016
Can't get a 4Runner with a 400hp twin turbo V6. Also those rear doors are a joke.

Not looking for a dedicated off-roader, the skid plates and drive modes are good to have but mainly looking for an Explorer model with the 3.0 Ecoboost. The ST is a very similar model but the suspension tuning and thin tires make for a terrible ride quality. The Tremor is a good all-round model with more cargo space and has a softer ride with the big all-terrain tires and lifted suspension.

Alternatively, id prefer the Lincoln Aviator version of that platform but used models are hard to find in my area.
>>
>>29075206
Why is V6 or V8 so important lol. Very loud, noisy, irritating, and frankly very scary. I cover my ears whenever I hear a loud motorbike engine, loud muscle car engine, or any so called big engine on some hyper car sports car type expensive cars on the road.
>>
>>29075224
It's probably pretty fun to drive, and comfy
The lsd is a major selling point 4 me
Reliability is probably on par for any German similar vehicle
You could probably do worse
Lincoln's are full of electrical gremlins from what I've read
