I am trying to sell my manual S80 Volvo from 2005 and people don't want it even for 1000€.
I find this ludicrous, since it is a very comfortable and safe car with timeless design, reaches satelite peeds of over 250km/h, acceleration of 7,3 seconds 0-100km/h. Has sunscreen, seat heating and feels like a luxury sport car compared to any new regular shitbox with a small motor that is more than 10 times more expensive.
And if you drive it sparingly, you can even get a fuel economy of around 8L/100km, which is not bad considering it has 5 cylinders and 210 ps.

sunroof* I meant for all of the autists out there

>rear body section rust
>catalyst bolts cost 40e/piece
>rear handbrake fuckery
just to list a few

These are alright cars, but they aren't worth much because they're boring.

Be patient

I'm assuming that it's the D5 biturbo diesel.

Just keep the sucker bro.
I'd buy it, if not for the import hassles.
An epic car.

Be honest, you're a bit jaded.
Post your last 3 vehicles
>muh Tesla

That’s not high mileage that’s moderate.
I understand that used cars sell for less there, that would sell for 2-4x that in the us. I don’t know (or care) enough about your market to give you advice.
I wouldn’t touch that thing with a 10 foot pole because of the potential cost and availability of parts. I drive an older car, it’s not the age but the Volvo part.

They're seen as boring, uncool, old people's cars, and the only people actively looking to get a Volvo are middleclass ~40+ year olds who want and have enough money for a new, or nearly new car. So yeah, 10+ year old Volvos are crazy undervalued for what they are, sucks if you're trying to sell one, but it's great for those of us buying who like older Volvos.

Bruh I'd buy it from you in a heartbeat if it was Europe. How well maintained?

I tried selling a newer skoda a few months ago and was in the exact same boat as you OP, it had all sorts of features and had been taken care of extremely well, I took professional photos, had only just done 100k, 1 year TÜV, but no one was interested.

After 3 months I had to sell it to a dealership nearby for 1k less than I wanted, who then went on to sell it within A WEEK for 750€ more than I wanted.

Anyone who wanted a car like mine in my area will have seen it listed for 1k less the entire time before they had it, but it's like people here don't trust anything that isn't a legal entity they think they can sue (good luck with that if they ever have to btw). Same reason they don't do DIY jobs but instead pay some guy called Johannes 2000€ to do it in 12 weeks time or buy so many insurances. They think any private interaction can't be trusted. "Muh warranty" is more important than saving money via common sense.

I will just say though, in the case of your car as good as it may be, there will be people put off by the issues in your description, and sadly it's not a BMW so people aren't as likely to buy it thinking "but I can fix her! I can make her as good as new!", volvo doesn't have as big an audience (I say this as someone now with my own)

That's where I'd close it if I was looking

2005 means it doesn't have an emissions sticker and can't enter many city areas, also people in German generally have enough money to get something far newer. The "older = better" autism is very rare in the real world and even then those people like to go for more interesting old cars. Also older B-tier luxury executive sedans are a noobtrap because parts are rare and expensive even if the car itself is cheap as fuck, everyone think they got a killer deal until the fancy air suspension shits itself and it costs more than they paid for the car to fix it.

In Sweden you could sell this for 10000€. They are in extreme high demand. The D5 is indestructible.

So is the TuV basically your roadworthy inspection/MOT?
Is it required once a year or only when transferring a vehicle ownership? Basically can whoever buys the car jump in and drive it straight away, or do they have to tow it and deal with fixing it first?

If it's so great why are you selling it?

Is the car on winter tires in the image with the stock rims? It's pretty common to have two sets in countries where winter tires are mandatory and "all-seasons" aren't considered good enough.
